Accredited Food Safety Course At The Kennel Club Building, Wednesday 8 September 2010

The Kennel Club will host an accredited Food Safety Course on Wednesday 8th September 2010 at the Kennel Club Building, Stoneleigh Park.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) requires that a responsible person holds a recognised certificate in Food Safety to legally sell food at public events.  Therefore, to help clubs and societies to properly supply catering at their events, the Kennel Club is working with Warwick College to offer a nationally recognised certificate to comply with FSA requirements.

This one day course, designed for all those involved in a catering or hospitality setting where food is prepared, cooked and served, includes the following topics:

  • legislation
  • food safety standards
  • temperature control
  • refrigeration, chilling and cold holding
  • cooking, hot holding and reheating
  • food handling
  • principles of safe food storage
  • cleaning
  • food premises and equipment

Knowledge and understanding is checked at the end of the course by a short multiple choice test. 

Successful completion of the course will provide a three year certificate from the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health Level 2 Award in Food Safety.

The Kennel Club is offering the course at a very favourable fee of £50 per delegate which includes tutorage, course materials and catering. We have limited places available, so this is offered on a first come first served basis.
