Busy weekend!

In the UK Leeds Championship Show saw Ch/Int Ch Brockland Brayhead Lad took BOB from Veteran with Ch Donvaleset Brier getting the nod for the bitch ticket over Ch Winni Wanna Make Music at Jeonty. Reserve Dog was Kirikee Ronan O’Gara with a debuting puppy, Bregorrey Lady Belleisle, taking home the BPIB rosette.

In the USA GCH Liberty’s Darren of Daulton was BOB in an entry of 15 at Dan Emmett Kennel Club whilst Finland, at Pori International, Ch Taramont Phelan was BOB. The latest Champion in the Glen of Imaal Terrier world is Carrighglen Big Boy who has added French Champion to the front of his name. Well done to everybody

Besides doing Glen of Imaal Terrier rescue Glen Services also assists breeders with placing their older dogs. They currently have somebody looking for a placement  later in the year so has anybody got a male Glen (not a puppy) looking to pack the proverbial little “red spotted handkerchief?”. The person is extremely experienced Glen owner. If you can help please email Liz

Leeds Championship Show-Liz Stannard writes

Contrary to rumours Leeds Championship Show will be going ahead July 27-29. The ground is in an excellent state not having had anything on it for two months. The grass is being cut. It is not waterlogged in any way as it has excellent drainage.

The secretary has spoken and nobody would dare contradict Liz so next weekend will see 19 Glen of Imaal Terriers being assessed by Margaret McDonald-Cross. It is hardly a surprise people were wondering though as Mfest, due to be held on the same ground earlier this month, was cancelled due to the organisers “feeling the main tents would become unsafe due to the waterlogged ground not being able to support the anchors and supports”.  Plus The Great Yorkshire Show, only ten miles away from Harewood, was cancelled after day 1 due to the state of the ground.

and what about the dogs?

In an entry of over 200 at the EFG Companion Show it’s impossible to show all the beautiful dogs doing classes and agility but a  selection is below. If you  would like a copy of any photograph please contact
