2013 Crufts Glen of Imaal Terrier results

The Glens finally got in at the NEC yesterday and it was equal honours for Nick and Simon , under judge Nick Hammond, as both left the ring three times carrying a red card! Best of Breed went to the (now) Veteran Multi Ch Abberann Conan with his equally Veteran sister Ch/Ir Ch Abberann Ennya taking the Bitch ticket. Reserve Dog was also a veteran with Ch/Bel Ch Brockland Brayhead Lad but Reserve Bitch went to a 14 month old in Bregorrey Lady Belleisle. Congratulations!

Full results can be found here and obviously there will be more on the blog on Monday. As requested by many the first place winners are below

  1. I used to show Glens in the early 80s when judges used to look at them and hadn’t got a clue. “especially the Variety classes”. My first bitch was Malsville Sillica (Silla) then a few months later along came Malsville Guitar Man (Zac), they were such characters.
It’s nice to see the breed is still going strong and looking at the photo’s that Harold has posted they are looking really good but i am not to sure about that tail it just doesn’t look right to me. I know there is nothing that can be done about it, rules are rules but it is a shame. Congratulations to the winners though you must be very proud. ( no such thing as CC’s in my day). Lyn Pugh.

  3. I had a great but tiring day, it was lovely to see everyone again, the food was fantastic and of course Nikki’s cake is an institution in its own right, delicious 🙂 The Discover Dogs stand was great too, almost didnt recognise Mister Holmes, Lovely to see Enda and Maeve Buckley there too, glad they made it over. I met Ingela, lovely to put a face to people we only ever meet on FB. I think I have just about recovered now, definitly next year I will be staying over, its way too tiring trying to do it all in one go, I had red eyes all day, but I thouroughly enjoyed it.

  4. It was nice to meet you as well yes it was nice to see Enda and Mrs Buckley.

  5. I must also say it was nice to see tiny Sue Sutton i at first thought she was a junior handler till she turned round.
