Well, at least we are being asked!

Dear Sir or Madam

You may wish to know that we have today launched a public on-line survey on Citizen Space. This is to seek public views in England and Wales on whether there should be any increase in the maximum sentence applicable under section 3 of the Dangerous Dogs Act where a dangerously out of control dog injures or kills a person or an assistance dog. The current maximum penalty is two years imprisonment or an unlimited fine or both.

The background to this is contained in the survey which may be found at https://consult.defra.gov.uk/animal-health-and-welfare/dda_dog-attacks_sentences_survey.

Yours faithfully
