And still on critiques from last year.

Glen of Imaal Association Championship Show

When one is giving “CC’s” for the first time it is an honour to get a good entry but when one is given the privilege of judging the Breed Club CH show it is even more so. After the storms it was lovely to see 30 out of the 37 entries at the show. My thanks go to the committee for inviting me to judge and to all exhibitors and helpers who created a warm welcoming atmosphere making the day special. I found my DCC & BIS in the limit dog class KIRIKEE RONAN O’GARA, BCC & BOS came from open bitch CH DONVALESET BRIER, RDCC in junior dog class was AMHARD HIGH FLYER & RBCC came from limit bitch class AMHARD GINGER GALORE, BPIS was in minor puppy bitch ROMAINVILLE FADE TO GREY.

Crufts (snailmail) entries close today

Postal entries for Crufts 2014 close today but online entries remain open until the 20th January. If you are still in two minds, or haven’t seen a schedule yet, it can be viewed here. The judge for Glen of Imaal Terriers (judged on Friday 7th March) will be Mel Hardy. Glens are Hall One, Ring Two and this year they are first in!

Speaking of critiques.

Looking back over 2013 Glen of Imaal Terriers didn’t do bad for critiques but four still seem to be missing! If anybody has seen anything of Midland Counties, Darlington, Leeds or Crufts do let us know. Jamie and Jeff (Midland Counties and Darlington) you are still within the 6 months period so how about a bit of writing? If you’ve done it and somehow its been missed apologies are wholeheartedly offered and do reshare it with us all. Allan and Nick (Leeds and Crufts) the above applies to you of course but have you realised that it is now OVER SIX months? Kennel Club rules, plus courtesy to exhibitors that have paid over £20 for your opinion, indicates that you are both now officially considered “naughty boys”.

If either of the Breed Club secretaries-or any of the exhibitors on the relevant days-would like to Kennel Club and remind them of the breach of rules we’d love to see the reply…..if you get one.

And the first critique of 2014 is……

West Midlands Terrier Society-Open Show 7th December 2013

Glen of Imaal Terriers

Thank you to WMTS for the invitation to judge and the exhibitors for your support. A well run show and a very pleasant day out.

Junior: 1st Ellerton Dusky Beauty. Brindle full of character. Good bone and structure. Sound in movement, should make up well as she matures. 2nd Jeonty MeMe Fern. Wheaten. Nice head and expression with sound confirmation. Moves well. Shows great promise for the future.

Post Graduate: 1st Pajantick Star Trooper. Wheaten. Powerfully built young dog. Good head and front. Slightly light on hindquarters but still moves well and should grow into a well-balanced sound dog. Reserve BOB. 2nd Jeonty Red Clover. Wheaten. A typical glen of right type. Now a veteran but still full of character. She lost out to youth today but moved well and was a pleasure to handle.

Open: 1st Bregorrey Wannabe Victory by Jeonty. Brindle. Solid well put together male. Moved with drive and purpose. Good bone and shown very fit. BOB. 2nd Ch Jeonty Maybe Daysee. Wheaten. Head sound bite and good expression. Well-presented and moved out well. A very close decision.
