What a nice day!

A lady, driving out of the field last Saturday, stopped the car just so she could tell Jean what a nice day she had just had. That’s what everybody wants to hear and admirably sums up the entire Funday. The weather, the people, the helpers, the winners, the competitors, the judges, everybody and everything just really, really nice. There was even a profit on the day, which had been mused upon as the change of date had meant a clash with two other dog events, so Hearing Dogs For The Deaf and Glen health will be receiving cheques. A really interesting mix of dogs turned up as can be seen by the senior winners:-A Silken Windhound was Best In Show, a GSP Reserve, Best Puppy went to a Shar Pei, Best Veteran a Siberian and Best Child Handling a Mini Wire Dachs……handled by Lucas Rayner who very confidentially told judge Nigel Barker it was his “firstest time ever”. Oh yes, there were Glen of Imaal Terriers there of course.

DID YOU WIN THE ENTRANCE PASSES TO WOBURN? One of the raffle prizes was free entrance for four adults and four children to Woburn Abbey and Gardens. It was a CERTIFICATE that clearly said please contact Jean Rogers for the actual passes but these have not been claimed. You need the pass, signed by His Grace, before visiting!

  1. It was, indeed, a lovely day!

Unfortunately, I have no photographic proof … but … for the first time EVER … David showed one of our Glens … in THREE classes! 😉

  2. The Funday was originally scheduled for today so given the torrential rain & thunderstorms it is a good thing the date was changed.
Does Peter Bedford have contacts among the weather gods?
