Could you help Blue?

I am currently fostering an entire male 6 year old Glen of Imaal Terrier. His owners have had to part with him on the advice of the doctor due to the husbands failing health. He is a pure pet with a lovely temperament. He is great with people, other dogs and chickens as well as livestock but he has been known to chase cats. I have had to kennel him as my house isn’t big enough for 4 glens but he isn’t happy as he has always lived in the house. I am looking to get him neutered and also looking for a loving home for him.  He has up to date rabies shot and passport but I need to do his booster. Please if you know of anyone looking for an older Glen, could you pass on Blue’s information. His owner does not want him to go back to his breeder or Glen rescue Ireland, them being one and the same. Any help would be gratefully received
Thank you
Sue Sutton

  1. He looks like a sweet boy so I hope he finds a loving home soon. Can his photo be shared on other lists? What part of Ireland is he in?

    • He is with me in Roscommon.such a sweet boy. He gets on well with all my dogs . After the girls telling him off for taking liberties.

      • Can I also add that the reason owner didnt want Blue returned to his breeder is purely through personal differences . I will be asking Glen Rescue Ireland if they would put Blue on their web site.

  2. Hope Blue finds a good home soon. Must say he is a corker of a dog, must be his good breeding. One thing though, did we really have to know about the “politics”. Surprised EFG have included that. But hey ho thats the Dog World for you.

  3. Sue the dig at Marie was tottally uncalled for Marie is a particular freind of ours and in the past was very good to you! i thought your comment from its owner were well below the belt and uncalled for speaking for myself. Glenn you were absolutely correct cocerning some of the dog world dragging it down via backbiting and backstabbing thanks but no thanks.

    • Steve. Sue mentioned no names. She reported on what the owner wished. She is aware of the full situation and you aren’t. She commented a good 10 hours before your posting that it was personal differences that prevented the owner returning “Blue” to his breeder and again no names were there. I’m very surprised that you, who have checked quite a few dogs out for Glen Services when nothing to do with you, should be scathing about somebody who is doing what good Glen people do; helping out and trying to do what they believe is best for all concerned!

  4. Liz my issue is not with Glen services who i admire it is solely with Sue Sutton who again in my opinion did not need to mention Glen rescue in Eire who is ran by Marie who is the breeder that was completely out of order in relation to this dog. You didnt need to be Sherlock Holmes to work out who Sue was talking about non of that was needed simply the dog needed rehoming.

    • Sometimes owners get ideas and if you aren’t willing to go along with them you aren’t allowed to help. It’s unfortunate they felt they wanted to neither co-operate with the breeder or allow contact by them but owners, particularly in stressful circumstances, can often not be reasoned with. It was mused whether to keep that part of Sue’s letter in but it was decided that most people would realise it was at the behest of Blue’s previous people it was there.
