Scottish Kennel Club Show is this weekend with an incredible entry of 21 Glen of Imaal Terriers for SKC and judge Paul Eardley, the last time anything like that number was seen was back in the mid 90s under breed judge Ursula Collins. It’s a very, very long session for most of the exhibitors(if intending to make a day trip of it) but at least being 3rd in the ring, with 70 dogs before Glens, means not quite such an early start in the morning…or the night before!
The Glen of Imaal Terrier Association Open Show is on June 7th at Shenstone Village Hall,Barnes Road, Shenstone WS14 0LT. Nicky Montford will be judging the 12 regular classes and Sherrill Goodwin the special ones. Schedules can be had from Anne Hardy firstname.lastname@example.org or downloaded via the Association website
Goosnargh & Longridge Agricultural Society have scheduled Glen of Imaal Terriers to be judged by Tony Hadley. The show is on Saturday 11th July and schedules can be had from David Howarth 01524 222052
Online entries close for Blackpool Championship Show today. Terrier Day is Friday 26th June and Glen of Imaal Terriers are to be judged by Robin Searle.
Birmingham National saw a new Glen of Imaal Terrier Champion when Romainville Billy Whizz took ticket number three and Best of Breed under Harry O’Donoghue. Abberann Dervla was awarded the Bitch Ticket with Abberann Phelan and Romainville Annabelle taking the respective Reserves. Annabelle was also Best Puppy with Donvaleset Rebus getting the nod for Best Veteran. Travelling award goes to the Whites who promptly turned around from Stafford to head to Newtonards where Phelan was BOb with Dervla BOS.
At Lahti Puppy Show in Finland Gleann Dynamite Mike was Group 2 and at the 2 day Ravenna Kennel Club Show in America GCH Daulton’s Emerald Green was BOB both days and also took a Group 4.
“Are you now doing Fridays as the serious day?” Friday can be “serious” for as long as folk want to send items that may be of interest to Glen of Imaal Terrier owners, breeders, enthusiasts or followers……so keep them coming!
Vulnerable Breeds: How small is too small? is today’s blog to consider and muse over a cup of tea
Terrier Day at Birmingham National Show is this Saturday (9th). The 15 Glen of Imaal Terriers are third in ring 10 which is annexe 2. There are 56 dogs over 2 breeds to be judged before the Glens so people needn’t get up too early.
…with the success of Glen of Imaal Terriers. After the last couple of weeks it’s great to record two more entering the brains and beauty brigade with “back end” titles. Monroe tried earthdog and qualified twice in Intro to Quarry and Daisy qualified in IQ, Senior and then the Senior title was hers!
On the showing front at Crawford County KC GCH Emerald Isle Keely with Daulton was BOB at both shows and collected Group 4 both days also. First report (I think) from a West Virginia show and at the Mountaineer KC GCH Daulton Emerald Green took him the big ribbon with Daulton’s Clancy of Galore Best Opposite. At Tampere Finland BOB went to Gleann Una Noonan with Gleann BigWig Best Dog. A weekend of showing in Ireland with Fermoy & South Tipperary, Ch Abberann Phelan was BOB both days with Ch Abberann Dervla Best Bitch on Sunday & Daultons Midnight Sky of Galore Saturday which makes her up subject to IKC ratification. Well done everybody!!
If you were at the EFG Open Show last weekend you’ll have already seen the advert but for those that didn’t…
