A brief and to the point announcement of the death of an elderly man. To the Glen of Imaal Terrier world it is one more, of a rapidly decreasing band of senior breed followers, no longer with us. The Knockroe affix was on many beautiful Glens. His first litter was in 1973 and a bitch from that litter, Knockroe Goldilocks, was the dam of Knockroe Shevaun that came over to England. “Carrie” had a litter of nine and two of the sisters were instrumental in introducing the breed to many in the UK.

Eamonn was great friends with Jim Duggan (Glenheights) and when Carrie went back to Ireland her son was mated to Glenheights Broc and a boy from that litter Knockroe Eamonn Of Bilbo went over to Denmark and-it isn’t too much of an exaggeration to say-ignited the Glen world there. He was a stylish dog that bred on, suddenly people noticed the breed. Knockroe Yankee & Knockroe Yankee Doodle were some of the first Glens imported into America.

He was very proud of the history of the breed and helped found the Irish Glen of Imaal Terrier Sporting Club of Ireland, produced their initial newsletters and was the Club President. He was a social, hospitable, helpful man who will be very missed.
