Until November 19th…..

There won’t be any updates, news, gossip, suggestions, information, catching up, ideas, shares or anything new in the Glen of Imaal Terrier world on here until November 19th.

Don’t forget us though and we’ll (hopefully) have a huge catch up then. Wherever you are exhibiting, trialling or just doing Glen things have a great time and remember to pass along how it all went…..oh yes and Christmas presents for Glen of Imaal Terrier lovers are still needed!

International Breed Buddies

Thank you all for the interest in the “Breed Buddy” idea last week. It’s always good to know that ideas are well received-this one was incredibly-but we’re putting out a further idea. This blog is part of the worldwide Glen of Imaal Terrier community and it was great that non UK folk put their names forward. Thing is though the EFG website, however well thought of, just won’t be on the radar of somebody in say, the Netherlands when looking Glen information. So why not  put the idea of “breed buddies” forward to the Clubs and Associations in your own country? The idea should work wherever you are based and the majority of Clubs have a website or newsletter. See what you can do in 2019….Breed Buddies here to help you, will translate to any language.

Christmas present number 3

This is certainly something for a Glen of Imaal Terrier owner and it doesn’t have to be just for Christmas. Have a look at Yappy and you can even change the colour of the Glen; got a wheaten, got a brindle, it doesn’t matter as each gift can be personalised. Even the name can be included. There are over 250 breeds there so even none Glen dog owners should be able to find something-just change the breed.

Midland Counties critique

GLEN OF IMAAL TERRIER

Thank you to the exhibitors & friends who gave their support on what was a very special day for me. Your encouragement & good wishes over the last year have been much appreciated. With regard to Fit for Function &Health Monitoring I had no concerns with any of the Glens present at the show. They all appeared sound & with only some minor differences were typical breed.

POST GRADUATE DOG: 1) Jeonty Yipee Kiaye. Nice outline, good head & eye, very fit & moved with purpose. Reserve Best Dog.

OPEN DOG: 1) Pajantick Razamataz. Fit & well muscled solid dog. Good bone & coat. Moved with purpose & had a typical Glen expression of confidence. Best of Breed. 2) Ch Golden Spurs. Sound to handle, fit & in good condition. 3) Romainville Fast ‘N’ Furious at Wickholm

VETERAN DOG: 1) Ch Johnny Be Good at Romainville. Now 12 years old & still showing well. Put down in good condition & well handled. Best Veteran.

JUNIOR BITCH: 1) Jeonty Letty Be Magic. Sound in structure with nice outline & good head. Still growing but moved well, has potential. Reserve Best Bitch.

OPEN BITCH: 1) Ch Wickholm Breaking Dawn. Sound in type with good bone. Coming up to 3 years and maturing well. Moved with good drive & well shown. Best Bitch. 2) Jeonty Jyn A New Hope. Good outline with nice expression. Giving away age to winner but a promising youngster. 3) Ch Sigrid Helga at Pantcottage

VETERAN BITCH: 1) Jeonty Lola May at Wickholm. A typical Glen, still with good shape & sound in movement. 2) jeonty Red Clover. Another typical Glen. Fit for her age & in good condition. Just lost out in movement.

Mike Brown OBE (Judge)

Normally a judge’s critique is on the blog and obviously, as that is the most important thing, nothing else on that day but today we’re making an exception. Mike, after a long period with touch and go moments, has had the sage nod from his surgeon and as he said to people at MC I’m here & I’m still standing! Alright he’s sitting for the photograph but lots of people wanted to say “welcome back”

Could you be a Breed Buddy?

The internet is a decent enough reference source but sometimes a real life person is needed and this is why we’d like to introduce Breed Buddies. The Buddy will be there for anybody who wants to know more about Glen of Imaal Terriers. Maybe general advice, maybe specific, maybe they already have a Glen and would like to meet somebody in the area. They could be first timers, second timers or third but still a little apprehensive about asking for help or thoughts. A Breed Buddy would be there on the end of the telephone or email to give that personal touch that Dr Google can’t.

So could you be a Breed Buddy? The only ability needed is to know something about Glen of Imaal Terriers and be willing to help. It doesn’t even matter if you don’t have Glens anymore because if you had them once you quite probably have more knowledge than the person contacting you. Your name and details (you can choose what you want to appear but you must be contactable) will appear on the website, given out by the EFG secretary and, who knows, possibly in the future incorporated into a flyer. If you think you could be a Breed Buddy do drop Jean Rogers an email.

BREED BUDDIES-here to help you.
