Here’s to you boy!

ARBA CH. Rainbow Springs Oliver Twist SE, RN, RATI, RATS, NW2, NW3-C, NW3-E, NW3-I, NW3-V, L1I, L1V, SDE

For many years “Ollie” has graced us with his photographs and his talented exploits. Today, as a mark of respect, he sits looking at us with all his many and varied titles listed-the reminder of what a great boy he was and by that one word, was, the message has been given. Ollie has walked on to another life.

A small blue & tan Glen of Imaal Terrier whom the majority of Glen owners have never met but he was ours. We knew him, admired him and loved him. We all shared him through the kindness of Les & Monique so today we share their pain and final message:-

OLIVER   11/17/1999 – 3/17/2017

After maintaining his positive attitude and love of life for 17 1/3 years, Oliver’s health issues caught up with him last week and we made the difficult decision to help him cross over on Friday. We are heartbroken over the loss of our sweet boy. It is hard to imagine never seeing or holding him again.  Our treasured memories will sustain us and he will live on in our hearts forever. We will love you always, “angel boy” Oliver!

You did us proud Ollie. Thank you for being you.

Birmingham Gundog & Terrier critique

CRITIQUE FOR BIRMINGHAM & DISTRICT GUNDOG & TERRIER CLUB TWIN GROUP OPEN SHOW                                              GLEN OF IMAAL TERRIER                                              SUNDAY 17TH APRIL 2016

Thanks to the commitee for the appointment and the excellent hospitality. A friendly show as usual. Thank you all for the good entry of well behaved Glens. On the whole coats were good. No problems with eye shape or colour. Ears and tails. ( it helps sometimes with tails to block out anything more than a fist full). Movement generally good. I didn’t have any major concerns with Top lines. Though, there was concern with a few mouths, rear angulation and a few getting long in the loin. Just remember that Glens mature late so don’t give up till they reach 20 yrs!

PG BITCH (2)

I’m sure Glen of Imaal Terrier people, always generous, won’t mind that today’s round up begins with a new exhibitor. At Pembroke Canine Society Kingcottage Boogie On Basil got 2 firsts, Best NSC Puppy and Puppy Group 2.
Sligo (Ireland) had Ch Abberann Phelan topping the Glen entry with Ch Abberann Ennya Best Bitch.
In Finland it was their Glen Club Specialty and rather a good day for Kennel Gleann with Ungus MacGuire Best In Show, Rabarber Drom Best Opposite and Best Veteran and Best Puppy to Damn Daisy.
The Terrier Association of Oregon was a double BOB for Keadeen’s Blue Boy for Bluesette as he was top at Portland KC.
What a credit to the breed the American “Brains as well as Beauty” team are. Laura Trainor reports that Niamh has added Junior Earthdog to her numerous titles and Monique Anthony writes “Oliver had another enjoyable day at a Performance Scent Dogs trial. In Littleton, Massachusetts on Saturday he placed 3rd in the Novice Distance class, 1st in the Advanced Containers class, plus earned his third leg and consequently a TITLE in Novice Buildings! So many ribbons and so much Nosework fun!”
Many congratulations to all

A few photos from the EFG Funday showing Glens were not the only exhibits even if they appeared everywhere.

More Glens were busy around the world so another update later today.

As we change months…..

As September is here we’re going to lie-down in the well beloved darkened room for a few days to prepare for the Autumn season. Don’t forget to email everything and anything you reckon could be of interest to Glen of Imaal Terrier people and we’ll regroup in a few days on September 12th. Oh yes and to the question recently put of “does anybody really look at this?” we have to say the 200,000 mark was recently passed so it can be said one or two do….now and again.

Condolences

Just been informed that Fred George has passed away after a long illness.
Condolences to Kathy and all relatives.
Kathy requests that people please refrain from calling to give the family chance to recoup.
