JB (2)

1 Hardy & Tune’s Amhard Jeez Louise, fawn. Very nice. Good sound head & strong on topline. Good front & rear. Jacket coming on well. Very alert. Moved with drive;

2 O’Brien & James’ Amhard Jessie Jay, fawn. Not the movement of my winner & I did prefer tailset of 1. Moved out well & good jacket.

PGB (1)

1 Hardy’s Amhard Indy Kate, brindle. Sweet head. Good bite. Dark eye. Topline so sound. Tailset bang on. Moved out well. Very nice. RCC.

LB (3)

1 Seall’s Bregorrey Madam Defiance, dark brindle. Beautiful head. So very alert. Bite spot on. Shoulder & neck so good. Top very sound, in lovely jacket, a picture on the move. Showed to advantage. CC & BOB;

2 George & Sullivan’s Romainville Fade To Grey, brindle. Nice to go over but she kept looking around on the move, which broke her movement pattern & made her front look poor, pity;

3 Hannington’s Romainville Uptown Girl.

Thank you-Weather God!!!!

That tells you everything; after seemingly months of rain the Weather God decided he would, in divine magnificence, deliver sun for the EFG Companion Show and everybody came out to pay homage to his divine benevolence. On a weekend where everything seemingly cancelled we went ahead and it was brilliant. Over 200 entries for the Companion Show, over 40 people stayed on Saturday night for the Chinese supper and get-together. There was eye-testing, there was agility, there was competitions, there were raffles. For the first time the cars had to be double parked and nobody could believe it when a mini-bus turned up.

Thank you to Allan Stephenson for coming to judge and we all hope Peter gets better soon. Thank you to the people who came Thursday to  help set up and who were still there Sunday afternoon to help knock down. Thank you to the folk who travelled from all over the country (literally) and thank you to the people who came across a blog on the internet and had enough faith to visit somewhere they had never heard of, to spend time with a group of people they knew nothing about. Thank you all for giving up your time and effort to (once again) show that when the EFG does something everybody has an absolute ball and the first emails and photographs were coming in Saturday night to say “Yeah, brilliant time!!!”.

Best In Show was awarded to a Lhasa with Reserve to a Glen of Imaal. Best Puppy went to a Chi. More photographs have been promised so do check back. Whilst we were all doing our bit the Glens in America were covering themselves with glory. GCH Finnabair Song O’My  Heart was turning in three Group 4 placings and GCH Coleraine Mandalay Royalty added another Gp4 to her tally. Pride of place though has to be 6 month old Briarhill Flaithes Eirann who went Best Puppy in Show at Woodstock Dog Club. What a debut! Congratulations everybody

Drumroll please

GLEN OF IMAAL TERRIERS

PGD: 1) Romainville Brannigan at Brockland, wheaten, good strong head, dark eye, spot on mouth, well laid back, good balanced body, moved soundly. 2) Jeonty Highland Boy, well balanced, moving well. Just preferred bite of 1 & jacket at this moment. 3) Amhard Freebooter.

LD: 1) Johnny Be Good at Romainville, wheaten, correct size, good strong head, correct jaw, bite spot on, strong neck & well laid shoulders, good body & topline, well set tail, coat in very good condition, sound mover, RCC. 2) Jeonty Wannabee Bauer, wheaten, what a lovely looking dog when stood but let down so badly on the move which despite his handler’s determination to try & get him to move could not & therefore paid the price.

OD: 1) Ch/Int Ch Brockland Brayhead Lad, brindle, such a beautiful outline, so alert, in hard condition, such sound positive movement. I would like to thank the owner/breeder for showing him to me for a second time. He is a credit to the breed. CC & BOB. 2) Amhard Damson Sauce, brindle, shade smaller than 1. Sound head, good bite, extremely alert, good body & topline, tailset good, movement sound. Pushed for Reserve CC but decided in the Challenge it was playtime which cost him dearly.

JB: 1) Winnie Wanna Make Music by Jeonty, sweet head & very nice dark eye. Not alert today. Good neck & shoulder. Appeared to have an extended topline which is not helped by her tailset. Has wonderful free movement & positive attitude. Jacket coming on nicely.

LB: 1) Jeonty Maybee Daysee, wheaten, very feminine head, dark eye, nice bite. Not always alert. Strong neck, front & rear sound, super outline, well set happy tail. Her jacket could do with sorting out to fulfill the picture. CC. 2) Abberann Delta Lady at Norriss, very small bitch, dark eye, not very much underjaw. Front & rear okay. Not the best of toplines, waving her tail & enjoying her day out. Moved freely. Her coat needs attention.

OB; 1) Ch Jeonty Hasa ceilidh with Karensbrae, brindle, a true favourite of mine but today she is not as laert as I have seen her in the past. Still a lovely outline, with age her dentistry is well worn. Moved well & in good condition. Her young handler pulled out all the stops. RCC
