2 George & Sullivan’s Romainville Rock On, blue of compact build with typical headpiece, strong neck & backline. Rear angulation could be better consequently lacks drive.

OD (1)1 J Yippe Kiaye.

GLEN OF IMAAL JUDGE BATH 15

Glen of Imaal Terriers

My thanks to the exhibitors who had come. This was quite a difficult entry to judge with four absentees & therefore only three dogs & seven bitches present. There was quite a variation in type, size & head properties among those present. I was disappointed to see a number with somewhat narrower skulls than is required & some with very little stop.

PD (0).

JD (1) 1 Alstead’s Golden Spurs, an upstanding dog who strode out well moving around the ring, though he was however just a shade close behind when seen coming & going. Good strong bone. Excellent head. Could be slightly darker in eye. Correct ears. Good topline & tailset & pretty good in typical coat. Shown in excellent condition with plenty of muscle. His type carried him through to win RCC.

PGD (0).

LD (2) A.

OD (3,1a) 1 George & Sullivan’s Romainville Billy Whizz, very strong dog with a good head & skull with enough stop & powerful muzzle. Good eye & correct ears. Stands extremely well with plenty of bone & is well proportioned. Good compact feet. Moved out well behind. Coat not at its best either on body or head but he was a powerful dog who showed well & had good strength & substance. Went on to win CC & BOB;

2 Hadleys’ Donvaleset Rebus, not in the best of coats & a bit lacking in furnishings. Good in skull & has enough body & bone & had enough rib without being overdone there. Moved a bit close behind & was somewhat erratic in front movement at times.

PB (1)1 O’Brien & James’ Amhard Jessie Jay, the only puppy present. OK in head properties though a slightly bigger eye would improve her expression. Good strong skull. Good in neck & topline & enough bone. Not in the best of coats & could do with just a shade less weight but still a puppy. Can move OK but was reluctant to get properly into her stride. Needs more ring training.

JB (0).

PGB (1) 1 George & Sullivan’s Romainville Fade To Grey, scored well in neck, body, topline & tailset & was very good moving – one of the soundest here, but didn’t have quite the strength of muzzle, width of skull or sufficiency of stop to complete the head picture. Good topline & correct spring of rib.

LB (4)1 George & Sullivan’s Romainville Rock On Ruby, rather a tall bitch who was lacking in coat quantity & texture today. Scored for movement over 2 both in front & behind. Strongly made & showing great power & propulsion & drive. Plenty of depth & plenty of bone & good feet & good width of skull RCC;

2 Seall’s Bregorrey Madam Defiance, a very typy bitch who was good in topline, correct for size though could have had just a shade more body substance. Good for coat but didn’t move as well as 1 in front or behind;

3 Hannington’s Romainville Uptown Girl.

OB (2,1)1 Seall’s Bregorrey Lady Belleisle, quite pleasing in head & expression though doesn’t always carry one of her ears correctly. She moved soundly both in front & behind. Enough spring of rib without being overdone there & OK in topline & overall body proportions. She was shown with fit body & muscletone. Good bone & enough bend of stifle. CC.

Stefanie Blänkner writes: Glen Meeting “Fire & Ice” and Friends in Witten(Germany) at Whitsun 2015. More than 50 Glens and their families took part in our traditional glenmeeting in Witten. It lasted over 2 days and started with a nice walk through the beautiful “Muttental” area. At an old ruin we had a stop to make a big Picture of all Glens. During the walk we passed the river “Ruhr”, where all Dogs used the occasion to drink water or take a short bath. In the afternoon we had the first top point of the day: the Glen Parade! That means that all present Kennels presented their dogs. It was very interesting to see the reationships! After that all Glens had a lot of fun with the dog Rallye.The Rallye is an agility competion just for fun. The next day we started with a grooming presentation to show specially the new puppy owners how to groom and take care of the coat of their Glens. The last competion of our meeting was then the dogracing. All Glens gave their best and a lot of People looked on the racing. All People enjoyed the Weekend with the attractions and the talks about our lovely Glens very much! It was wonderful and we thank all people for coming and our friends fom our Club in Witten, who helped us to organize this event.

And over Whit weekend……

…here in the UK a new Glen of Imaal Terrier joined the ranks of the Upper House when Bregorrey Lady Belleisle took the Bitch CC at Bath Championship Show under judge Ronnie Irving. She had to bow the paw to the (previous) latest Champion Romainville Billy Whizz who took the CC and BOB but I’m sure it wasn’t minded. The two Reserves were Romainville Rock On Ruby and Golden Spurs. Best Puppy was awarded to Amhard Jessie Jay

At the Helsinki International Show Gleann Una Noonan took Best of Breed, BOS Gleann Ungus MacGuire and Gleann Dynamite Mike Best Puppy. Over in America GCH Daulton’s Emerald Green took BOB at Holland (Michigan) Kennel Club and at Grand RapidsAt Trumbull County KC weekend,the BOB ribbon went home with Tipperary Columbo and Tipperary Cora Countess of Grantham took Number 2 in the Bred By Group. Ber-D-Mar Ballygriffin of Greystone Griff on his way to Gp4did his brains and beauty routine very successfully at Walton Beach with a Qualifier in Rally Excellent and a Group 4 in owner Handled.

Many congratulations folks!

And who was where?

Bath Championship Show was rather wet but Glen of Imaal Terrier people were there. Best of Breed, and his 20th CC, was Int Ch Brockland Brayhead Lad with the Bitch CC going to Bregorrey Lady Belleisle. A cluster of shows in Ohio saw 4 Best of Breeds for GCH Finnabair Ardmore Ned plus a Group 4 and 2 Group 3s. Three times his Best Opposite was CH Emerald Isle Sweet Molly Malone with Daulton and once GCH Daulton Emerald Green. Daulton’s Dark Lily of Caradoc was Best Puppy and also nodded into the number 2 slot in the Puppy Group. In the States and owner handled Group is also scheduled (due to the number of professional handlers) and Glens placed in that Group on two days; a group 3 for Paddington of Tipperary and a group 4 for GCH Liberty’s Darren of Daulton.

Ber-D-Mar Ballygriffin of Greystone, not yet 12 months old, finished his Beginners Novice Obedience title and obtained 2 legs towards his Rally Novice Title. Fabulously well done to griffin and “not bad at all” to the other winners over the weekend!!!
