What a collection!!!

Finnish Winners, Helsinki Winners, Nordic Winners, Holland Cup, Eukanuba Cluster and LKA; what a collection of Glen of Imaal Terriers!!

The Helsinki & Finnish Winners are held together and also have a Puppy Show included. The Helsinki Winners saw Gleann Bigwig BOB with Gleann Una Noonan Best Opposite whilst the Finnish saw Una Noonan Best of Breed with Gleann Cotton Candy taking Best Dog. At the Puppy Show Pearytail Candy McCoy get the nod with Pearytail Clumsy Clint bowing the paw to his sister and then the Pearytail Kennel also took a fabulous BIS3 Breeder Group! At the Nordic Winners the currently all conquering Una Noonan was Best of Breed with Gleann Bumpkin taking Best Opposite Sex.

The Eukanuba Cluster in Florida had nearly a week of shows. Space Coast KC of Palm Bay (love the name) Had Daulton’s Princess C Hatteras BOB with Finnabair Caatskill’s Thunderstruck at Shorlyne Best Dog. Central Florida Kennel Club was a win for Finnabair Double D friend of a friend and Kilkenny’s Granite Glen Rooney Best Bitch. Brevard KC had Finnabair Ardmore Ned at the top of the pile Glen Rooney again Best Opposite. As there are so many Pro-Handlers in the States Eukanuba has a National Owner Handler Series. Finnabair Song O’My Heart took the Big Rosette home with Ber-D-Mar Ballygriffin of Greystone standing at the top in the dogs. At the Eukanuba show itself Daulton’s Wild Night of Galore was Best of Breed and, the very confusing named if UK based, Kilkenny’s Granite Glen Rooney Best Opposite (also Best Bred By) with two Selects being given to Ber-D-Mar Ballygriffin of Greystone & Finnabair Song O’My Heart. There was also a Chicago Cluster and Abberann Torcan, sire of the Eukanuba BOB, did Glens proud with a Group 2 and 2 x Group 3. 4 month old Abberann Stars & Stripes Ruari made a great start in her show career with Group 1 win for Beginner Puppy. Jeonty Sunny Sky Baby was BOB at Shoreline Dog Fanciers. A result that had somehow disappeared into the ether, and has now reappeared, is from Ozarks Kennel Club. Castle Valley China Girl of Glenbride was BOB, with Coleraines Coldplay Best Opposite, on Day One. Day Two saw Coldplay take BOB with Best Bitch being awarded to Coleraine’s Ginger Snap.

As a small aside Eukanuba is a Crufts qualifier so that means three of the five qualified from the US throughout the year could come over as they are undocked. Torcan did it most successfully last year so will Bill Browne-Cole be seeing some American cousins?

The Holland Cup was a triumph for Abberann Phelan and, rather than a photograph, he can be seen around 1 minute 58 seconds on here and at the Amsterdam Winners he triumphed once again.

LKA is the last All Breed Championship Show of the Year in the UK. Best of Breed was awarded to Jeonty MeMe Fern with Best Dog going to Brockland Brayhead Lad, the two Reserves were Donvaleset Domino, who was also Best Veteran, and Romainville Billy Whizz respectively. Best Puppy went to Boudivella Oscar.

New Champions and Group Placements!!!!

What a set of results to bring together; reckon it is three new Glen of Imaal Terrier Champions, two new working titles plus numerous Group Placements. The 3 newbies are Abberann Karl, Keadeen’s Sir Emmett Mingus Glas & Ber-D-Mar Ballygriffin of Greystone. Karl took his third ticket at Belfast with Abberann Ennya taking the Bitch CC and Abberann Phelan & Daulton’s Midnight Sky of Galore Taking the respective two Reserves. Keadeen’s Sir Emmett Mingus Glas took his title at the Monroe KC cluster with Best of Winners all three days. Ber-D-Mar Ballygriffin of Greystone took his title with 2 Best Opposites at the West Velusia KC back to backs. Congratulations to the breed’s new Champions but special applause for Griff as his front CH will give a bit of balance to the BN, RA, CGCA, RATO, JE, NJP, CA(NW1) that appear at the back of his name.

Monique writes about the mighty Ollie “Oliver earned his Nose Work 3 Vehicle title (NW3-V) at the NACSW Nose Work trial in Ashby, Massachusetts on Saturday. The weather was finally cooler and he was extremely motivated to find the hidden birch, anise, and clove odours.” With Laura writing that Niamh has earned her Master FAST agilty title. 10 qualifying runs are required to get this.

At Carlow Championship Show Abberann Phelan was Best of Breed with Group 4, Best Bitch was Ir Ch Daulton’s Midnight Sky of Galore. At Gig Harbour in America Keadeen’s Chloe was BOB & BOBOH Group 2 at one of the shows and Keadeen’s Blue Boy for Bluesette was BOB at the other.

The West Volusia Finnabair All In took the top award and OH Group 4 at the first show and Finnabair Song O’My Heart was BOB plus OH Group 3 as well as Terrier Group 3. A cluster at Monroe, Michigan saw Abberann Torcan take all three of the Best of Breeds. The only European result to come in was the Hyvinkaa Group Show In Finland with Gleann Damn Daisy Best of Breed and Susamurun Resta Qui Best Bitch.

Looking at the Glen Gathering group photo from Barre, MA it was one heck of a day.

Everybody should give everybody else a round of applause-you all do Glen of Imaal Terriers so proud!!!!!

Not so much this weekend….

…but still 3 Group placements for Glen of Imaal Terriers!

First up, and pride of place must go to GCH Abberann Torcan with a Group 2 & 3 in Crown Point, Indiana. Down at Space Coast KC (Just have to love American Show names) GCH Finnabair Song O’My Heart was BOB at Group 3. In Denmark at Vejen International BOB was awarded to Gleann Nora with BOS going to Gleann Ungus MacGuire. At Swords in Dublin Ch Abberann Phelan was BOB with Ch Abberann Dervla Best Bitch

Finally a “brains” title addition. Noreen O’Moore would like to shout from the rooftops that her Conall & Scarlett can now add RatN after their names!

Well done everybody.

Abberann Torcan

What a weekend!!

It might be the middle of December but Glen of Imaal Terrier people were busy, busy, busy in the showring.

With so much to report on top of the heap must go to Laura and Niamh with their 3rd place in the Time2Beat at the Eukanuba Agility Invitational. Great for a Glen to go so far. The fabulous action shot below is a Mark Brown special but nobody sent any other pictures of the 4 day showing event. Hopefully folk were just enjoying themselves and when they get home photos will be shared…hint..hint. The week began at the fabulously named Space Coast Kennel Club with a BOB for GCH Finnabair Song O’My Heart and BOS for GCH Kilkenny Sullivan of Castlerock. Day 2 went to GCH Finnabair Ardmore Ned and CH Glentyrs Lady Isabelle at Castlerock. Day 3 had new winners for the event into the frame with the BOB to GCH Abberann Torcan and Best Opposite to GCH Daulton’s Emerald Green. Day 4 and the actual Eukanuba Show had the brother and sister act of Ned and Nellie (Song O’My Heart) taking the rosettes again with Ned BOB. With so many Professional Handlers on the American show scene (Glens themselves had four at Space Coast) a National Owner Handler Series is run with the finals taking place at the Eukanuba week. GCH Abberann Abigail was victorious with Ber-D-Mar Ballygriffin of Greystoke getting Best Opposite. Not everybody was in Florida though with Ch Daulton’s Princess C Hatteras taking BOB at Richland County Kennel Club

Over in Europe the Amsterdam Winners had an extra day and that was the Holland Cup. Triumphant on both days was Ch Abberann Phelan, who needs belated congratulations on obtaining his Irish Championship a couple of weeks before his 3rd CC at the Glen Association Show so when everything is confirmed does this make him an International? Daultons Midnight Sky of Galore was Best Opposite both days so again (we think) the highest placing American bred (and only one) ever to exhibit there. Too young for the CACIB she took him the Junior Winner title.

The Swedish Winners in Stockholm is a popular event. Glen of Imaal Best of Breed was Tirhogar Eamond The Moon Rocket with Glenrosedale Aoibheann Nion Rós Best Opposite. Junior titles were on offer and they went to Mac Nally’s Gorrie and Mac Nally’s Gracie respectively.

Congratulations to each and everyone!!!!

Big USA weekend

The Montgomery Cluster weekend  is the “biggie” in the Terrier World in America and Glen of Imaal entries go from strength to strength. The event starts off with Hatboro 1 and Best of Breed went to GCH Rainbow Springs Wicklow’s Warrior of Ber-D-Mar. Hatboro 2 comes next but nobody has emailed the result through for that one. As soon as somebody does it’ll appear here. Devon had GCH Cill Dara’s Fergus of Daulton taking Best of Breed with half sister Ch Daulton’s Clodagh of Cill Dara getting the nod for Best Opposite.

The show to attend is Montgomery and it was a sister brother act with GCH Finnabair Song O’My Heart taking BOB and Ch Finnabair Ardmore Ned BOS. For pedigree buffs the sire  of those two, Malsville Soldier Blue, is the grandsire of the Best  Puppy Bregorrey Sovereign Storm. Best of Winners went to Caatskill’s All That Jazz. The best brace was awarded to CH Rainbow Spring Kylee of Cnoc CD RE NAP NJP OFP and Ch Niamh of Cnoc RA NAP NJP and they were then awarded Best Brace in Show 3!

Over the weekend Murphy Emmett of Cnoc, Daulton’s Rory & Daulton’s Rosalee all earned enough points to add Champion to their names. Well done to everybody & thanks to Mark Brown for the photographs

Busy people

Boy have Glen of Imaal Terriers been in the news over the last week! GCH Finnabair Song O’ My Heart started the run with a Gp2 and 3. Estonian Winner 2012 went to Ch Jeonty Flown Finnair and Abberann Karl also did a Gp2 & 3 at Munster & Cork respectively. It wasn’t only the show world were the breed was excelling as Finnabair Winston O’Reilly added a new working title and the Glen with the best name in existence, Liberty’s Phineas T Prowness of Makin People Happy, obtained a Coursing Ability title-only the 2nd Glen to do so. This award will be a new one for non American owners so do have a look at what it is. Congratulations everybody.

What a weekend!

SKC and judge Don Harley (awarding CCs for the first time) gave BOB to Ir/Ch Abberann Ennya with Dog CC to Amhard Damson Sauce (his 1st). The 2 Reserves were Amhard Ginger Snap & Multi Champion Abberann Conan.

In America GCH Finnabair Song O’My Heart took a Group 3 at Clarksville KC and GCH Coleraine’s Mandalay Royalty, in a 3 day cluster, took 3 Group placements with the last one being a Gp 2 at Long Island KC. In Finland Gleann Nollaig was Best In Show at the Haijaa Group Show.

The big show of the past week was the World Show in Austria. World Winner was Ahadiel of the Beskyd Gate and Junior World Winner was McCormac Rathnait Kilraghts. Finally Finnabair Winston O’Reilley RN BN showed the brains of the Glen of Imaal Terrier with a new working title from an ASCA trial…and being Winston it is on his own blog.

What a set of results-congratulations everybody!!!

Sister Act (well half-sisters really)

Over in America G.Ch Coleraine Mandalay Royalty added another first to her increasing portfolio. Curry became the first Glen of Imaal Terrier to take four consecutive Group placements in one weekend. Two Group 4, one Group 2 and then finished the weekend with a terrier Group First. She now has 27 Group Placements; is she the Glen with the most in the world?

Down in Florida Ch Finnabair Song O’My Heart also added to the breed profile with a Group 4.

Many congratulations to both.
