“A fine weekend for Coursing Ability Tests in Hollister (CA) – 3 tests sponsored by the Basenji Club of Northern California and a rare Sunday afternoon test by the Monterey Bay Coursing Association. Saturday runs opened in a cold morning fog which burned off late morning and finished in mid-70s sunshine for the afternoon. Sunday was clear and temperatures climbed quickly, but never reached the predicted 90 degrees (unlike Livermore which hit around 102F).
Quinn (now unofficially Caatskill’s Mighty Quinn JE CA) ran his first four CATs and qualified in each, giving him the Coursing Ability title and one leg toward Coursing Ability Advanced (CAA). Molly (Ch Maille of Cnoc JE RN CA)had two Qs going into the weekend and earned two more for her title and a start on CAA.”
Well done everybody!

And as it is Christmas week: “I still believe in Santa Claus. I’m sure the children must have told me that he isn’t real. But I have never believed them (Nancy Reagan)
Westminster differs from Crufts insofar as only the top five in every breed can guarantee on getting an entry to the show. Others, if a Champion, can apply but “the lottery” finishes as soon as the designated number is reached and 2012s (due to work at The Garden) has been reduced by 500. The top 5 Glen of Imaal Terriers are:-
GCH Cill Dara’s Fergus Of Daulton (Ch Briarhill Drumlish – Ch Daulton’s Darling Orlaith)
GCH Coleraine’s Mandalay Royalty (Ch Malsville Soldier Blue – Coleraine’s Budget Inn)
GCH Daulton’s Emerald Green (Ch Finnebair Let Freedom Ring – Ch Daulton’s Darling Darby)
GCH Finnabair Song O’My Heart (Ch Malsville Soldier Blue – GCH Finnabair Fiona The Wicked NAP)
GCH Rainbow Springs Wicklow’s Warrior Of Ber -D-Mar (Ch Pajantick Sky Masterson At Malsville – Ch Rainbow Springs Gotta Lotta Moxie)

The BIG weekend of shows in the USA, as far as Terrier people are concerned, is the cluster now on in Pennsylvania which culminates Sunday with Montgomery. Hatboro 1 has already happened with the Glen of Imaal Terrier Best of Breed and shortlisting in the Group for Curry-GCH Coleraines Mandalay Royalty- and Best Opposite to Fergus-GCH Cill Dara’s Fergus of Daulton.
Montgomery is one of those events that pulls people from all over the world so if you need to talk to a Terrier person this weekend they may not be available.
