Count them…….seven plus two!

Glen of Imaal Terriers aren’t a breed that feature over much in Group top placings but the round up this week brings in an incredible seven!

Arcadia Florida saw a cluster and Finnabair Double D Friend of a Friend getting Best of Breed on all four days plus Groups 2, 3 & 4. Best opposite to him was Finnabair Cattskill Goldie. Keadeen’s Blue Boy for Bluesette, on his way home back to the north-west, stopped over in Idaho for two Best of Breeds at Lizard Butte Kennel Club & two at Idaho Capital City Kennel Club where he picked up a OHG3 and OHG2. Mad River Valley KC saw another group placement for Glens when Kilkenny’s Middleton of Irish Spirit took OHG4. In New York state Daulton’s Princess C Hatteras took a couple of Best of Breeds and clocked up number seven group placement for Glens with a OHG2.

Jyvaskyla (Finland) was a Best of Breed for Highlander’s Dream Casper with Pearytail Candy McCoy Best Bitch on day 1 & day 2 was a win for Gleann Bigwig. In Germany it was the Bundessieger weekend and big success for the Juniors with both the National and International shows having the same results, Best of Breed Gleann Holly at Spirit of Ireland with Jeonty Junior Fire & Ice Best Dog.

The big road trip over to Montgomery & back (four weeks in total) for the Dairiki boys wasn’t just for exhibition ribbons as Jeff writes “This weekend in Boise Quinn passed four of four master runs at the Valley Barn Hunt trials, earning his RATCHX title (as well as passing two of two crazy 8 runs, earning his CZ8B title.) Ciarán passed both of his master runs yesterday, earning high in class in both.

When you look at the gallery you’ll see a picture that doesn’t seem to fit. It’s Keadeen Second Star to the Right in the Group ring at Montgomery last week, the photograph arrived too late. Even though the top says seven group placements Glens probably had eight as the news has only come in unofficially about one of them……hint…hint if you haven’t sent. Here it is. Welcome to a new name for the weekend round up, Abberann Black Velvet Band by Galore who took 2 Best of Breeds and OHG1 & 2 in Oklahoma so it’s actually a tremendous NINE group placements!!!!!

Brilliant weekend everybody

August may be holiday season….

….but some Glen of Imaal Terrier people “holiday” at dog shows.

Three back to back shows at Kuopio (Finland) saw 2 Best of Breeds for Glean Damn Daisy and one for Pearytail Bonnie B Good. Rosears Humpty Dumpty and Marfidal Pleasant Surprise taking the Best Opposites. Another 3 B2Bs in Canfield (Ohio) had Tipperary Cora Countess of Grantham doing the double BOBs with Daulton’s Princess C Hatteras taking number 3. A nice weekend for Abberann Torcan with a Group 2 & 3 at Marshall, Michigan.

Sue Sutton, it doesn’t matter it was “only a little show” when Poachersmoon Sissy McGinty is Best Terrier, Best Irish Native Breed at Reserve Best In Show at Castlerea. The Norwegian Terrier Club runs Junior Handling so applause to Siri & Tilla for winning.

Okay, “Gatsby” got a Group 4 and “Picabo” Best Opposite but it would be nice to have names and places….hint, hint!

Whether your full name or call name is all we’v got you’ve done us proud-congratulations all.

It’s Monday again….

….so what have Glen of Imaal Terrier people been doing recently?

At Western Pennsylvania Kennel Association the Saturday Show Ch Daulton’s Princess C Hatteras was BOB and called into the Top Spot (Group1) in the Owner Handler Terrier Group, Tipperary Columbo was Best Dog. On the Sunday Columbo was again Best Opposite but this time behind his kennelmate Tipperary Violet Dowager Countess. Paper Cities (Wisconsin) saw a return to the ring of Abberann Torcan who annexed a Group 3 and 4. Uttecht in the Netherlands saw  Cairdiulacht Breannainn Mac Angus be awarded BOB with Madra Áthas Aoife Aideen an tSolais) was judged BOS.  At Sligo and District Stiubhard Hit The Road Jack was Best Baby Puppy In Breed, first rosettes are always so good! Also we’re hearing of some more Barn Hunt success-c’mon Jeff, share with us and what about the Owner Handler Group 4 sent as a “breaking news?” Susan, the show is needed!

Well done folks.

It isn’t holidays for everybody

August is the big holiday season but Glen of Imaal Terrier enthusiasts are still out and about. Two shows in Finland and at Turku Jeonty Flown Finnair was BOB with his granddaughter Susamurun Sogno Best Opposite whilst at Joensuu Rosears Humpty Dumpty took the top spot with Rosears Jealous Helena Best Bitch. In Vöru (Estonia) Romainville Highflyer was BOB both days and took Group 4 on the Sunday At America the back to back shows of Lorain Country saw Daulton’s Princess C Hatteras take a BOB and a BOBOH Group 4, on different days as she is owner handled. The other “Best” went to Caatskill’s Merry Miss Mayhem. Sometimes it’s slightly confusing when Europe doesn’t have the Owner Handler Group. It was also two Group 4s at Racine (Wisconsin) for Abberann Torcan. Well done all!!

First of 2015

The first Glen of Imaal Terrier round up of the first weekend are all American but even they are “getting weather” when temperatures at Palm Springs are in the 20s and they still use Fahrenheit! BOB there was GCH Finnabair Waking Kilmurray with BOS going to Jeonty Sunny Sky Baby. At Columbiana County KC the top spot went to GCH Emerald Isle Keely with Daulton (following on from the BOB at Western Reserve before Christmas). She was also BOB at one of the fabulously named Rubber City KC with Ch Daulton’s Princess C Hatteras CGC BOB at the other. The Brains Brigade keep on going whatever the time of year with Tula getting her Open Title in Barn Hunt-and first place- at a few days short of 8 years old and Griffin earned his 2nd leg in Novice Jumper with Weaves.

Great going everybody!!
