EFG Open Show 2019

Schedules for the 2019 EFG Open Show went out to members with the last newsletter. It’s being discovered, in the nicest way, that efficiency isn’t working with some people as they can’t remember where they have put them. That’s okay we’re all human. The schedule is online on the EFG website and hard copies are available from Jean Rogers. There will also be schedules at National Terrier.

The show is on April 27th and Colin Powell will be judging the 12 classes of Glen of Imaal Terriers. The show is held in conjunction with Birmingham Gundog & Terrier so it’s possible to do two shows in one day. Matt Smith is the Glen judge and as Matt is a gamekeeper an actual chance to get the opinion of a working man.

The AGM is also to be held here so the chance to do three things with just one car journey. Closing date for the EFG Open Show is April 18th and Liz will be at national Terrier to take entries. The usual generous sponsorship (£10 Best In Show etc.) has been donated.

All done until the days get longer.

That’s it then, time for the annual lie down until the days get a bit longer. There’s a list of Open Shows to look forward to, the KC Journal and the Irish Canine Press to look at, an eye testing clinic to book in for and an AGM to think about. If you haven’t entered for Crufts you still have until the 22nd and if you want to get ahead of the game National Terrier closes on February 22nd.

Remember us when you’re at Westminster or Manchester so hopefully they’ll be a big catch up session round about February 19th.

National Terrier Entries and AGM

National Terrier entries are out and there are 24 Glen of Imaal Terriers for judge Peter Bakewell to run his eye over at New Bingley Showground on April 1st

Please note: Glen of Imaal Terriers are 3rd in the ring (with around a 1.30pm proposed finish) which should give more than enough time to hold the AGM of the EFG as scheduled but the decision has been made to move the meeting to BEFORE judging. The AGM will now commence at 10.30am so as to enable any long distance attendees to start journeys home as soon as judging is ended

Please share the above information.

Results from the weekend will be on tomorrow

The Annual General Meeting was…..

….incredibly good-humoured!

Not an altogether usual heading for an AGM but it won’t be remembered for formality and to-the-point discussions of intense nature. EFG members travelled from all over the country, a lot of issues were sorted and quite a bit of laughing done. The Glen of Imaal Terrier Enthusiasts & Fanciers Club now has an official (no more Acting) Committee and Officers. There are approved accounts and rules. The judging list-a work in progress-is up and running. Health monitoring discussed with great enthusiasm. A Judges Seminar will be organised for the Autumn. Heck, this blog even got talked about along with other ideas that the Committee will be working on over the coming months.

We promise more Jaffa Cakes next year!
