From the Kennel Club and goodbye to Ellis

Question Times 2013 – The Kennel Club is holding the following Question Time in Lincoln, Wednesday 22nd May

6.30pm for 7pm start. These events are open to all an admission is free but tickets need to be booked in advance. Please contact if you wish to book a ticket for the event. Air your views and question senior representatives of the Kennel Club on any issues affecting dogs and dog owners.


The death was announced yesterday of Ellis Hulme. A courtesy gentleman who was always polite, well mannered and judged with grace. Something some of the current, rather surly, bunch of judges could well emulate.

Change of Judge

Mr Ellis Hulme has withdrawn from judging Glen of Imaal Terriers at Crufts 2011 and the replacement judge is Mr Harry O’Donoghue. Harry is the maestro of the world famous Blackdale Fox Terrier kennels and a judge of most breeds. He first judged Glens in the UK in the late 80s at Welsh Kennel Club. He has judged three times in the United States and at the prestigious Montgomery Show gave the nod for Best of Breed to Finnabair Rockets Red Glare. He has awarded Challenge Certificates once previously in Glens, at the “Special” Irish Native Breeds Show in Dublin 2009, and Best of Breed there was Abberann Conan
