Starting 2019 with THREE Group placements!

Before we celebrate the first 2019 Glen of Imaal Terrier achievements though the last of 2018 has to be honoured, particularly as it is from the Brains Department

Monique writes “Ginny qualified for the third time and earned her title in the Excellent Jumpers Preferred class at an AKC Agility trial on Sunday(30th)”

Thought the results were all going to be American this week, as they have the better January weather, but Jeonty Dreams A Dream with Karensbrae in Scotland flew the flag with a Group 3 at Bon Accord. The place many would like to be is Palm Springs and Keadeen Second Star To The Right obviously loved it as she was BOB three days out of the four with Keadeen’s Luck Be A Lady Best of Breed on the last one. Columbiana KC saw Finnabair You Should Be So Lucky take Best of Breed and it was repeated at both Rubber City shows. Tipperary Uptown Girl and Kilkenny’s Granite Aine of Cloddagh were the Best Opposites. The two Merrimack Valley Kennel Club shows saw double Group 2 placements for Abberann Lament for Owen Roe with Abberann Derbla Best Bitch.

Congratulations all.

Quieter weekend….

….but Glen of Imaal Terriers (and their people) were still out there.

Midland Counties saw Mike Brown in the centre of the ring, it was the thought of the show that kept him going through his long weeks of chemotherapy and he was so pleased to be able to be there after a “sage nod” from his consultant. Best of Breed was Pajantick Razamataz with Wickholm Breaking Dawn Best Bitch. Jeonty Yippe Kiaye and Jeonty Letty Be Magic taking the respective Reserves. Best Veteran, Johnny Be Good of Romainville, left spectators in no doubt how thrilled he was to be back in the ring again.

Seinajoki (Finland) was a BOB for Cairdiulacht Daibhi MacMiolmor and Gleann Una Noonan was Best Bitch & Best Veteran. Delaware (Ohio) KC saw the breeds only reported Group placement when Daulton’s Ciaran of Pine Meadow was OHG3. Sister Daulton’s Caoimhe of Pine Meadow was Best Opposite. The 2nd Delaware Show saw Finnabair You Should Be So Lucky take top award. Daulton’s Eili from Emerald Isle was Best of Breed last weekend at both Wenatchee Kennel Club shows and got her first Group placement (Gp4)

Jeonty Letty Be Magic was at Northwich & District Canine Society and had an excellent day with AVNSC Junior, Reserve Best NSC and a 1st in the Junior Stakes.

Karen Forbes was invited to represent the Kennel Club at a meet and greet to show that with care dogs and horses can be in the same place during exercise so Jeonty Dreams A Dream with Karensbrae went as part of the pack.

Monique reports for the “brains” department:- At an AKC Agility trial on Saturday, Ginny qualified in her first attempt ever in the Open Standard Preferred class and then qualified for the third time earning her title in the Open Jumpers Preferred class!

Congratulations everybody

Celebrating Group Placements (again)

We’ll start off in Europe as usual and what a start in Finland. At Lahti 2 day International Show Gleann Cotton Cody was Best of Breed, Gleann Una Noonan Best Bitch, but then he went onto Group 1 and BIS 4!!! Is there any Glen of Imaal Terrier that has done so well in Europe? Marfidal Devil’s Rock was in Estonia and took BOB there.

A belated result from Australia. Taufield Queen of Tara was Neuter BOB and then was Neuter Runner Up in Group. Another Group notch in his belt to Finnabair Double D Friend of A Friend with a couple of Group 3s in Florida, with Finnabair You Should Be So Lucky taking an OHG3, and Kilkenny’s Irish American Classic at Castlerock was in North Carolina for a run of Best of Breeds, Cary & Alamance KC amongst them. Jeff Dairiki sends news from the two-day Peninsula Dog Fanciers Club cluster in Bremerton, Washington.  Seven Glens (1-2-3/1) showed each day.On Saturday, March 24, under judge Marjorie Underwood, Ciarán (GCHB Keadeen’s Blue Boy for Bluesette CAA RATCHX3 CZ8B) took BOB/BOBOH and went on to an owner-handler group 1.  Eili (Daulton’s Eili from Emerald Isle) BOW, Stella (GCHB Keadeen’s Second Star to the Right) BOS, Quinn (CH Kilkenny’s Love and Happiness CA SE RATCHX3 CZ8S) took Select Dog, and Miles (Keadeen’s Kind of Blue) WD. Sunday, March 25, under judge Charlotte Patterson, Stella took BOB, Miles BOW, Emmet (GCHB Keadeen’s Sir Emmet Mingus Glas CA RATS) BOS/BOBOH on to owner-handler group 3, Ciarán SEL, and Lulu (Keadeen’s Luck Be a Lady) WB.

Gleann Holy Hannah took a Group 2 in Canada so an excellent weekend for the Gleann kennel!

The UK has Any Variety Not Separately Classified which means all the dogs from the various groups show together. It can be daunting but sometimes Glens can do it as ably illustrated by Jeonty Glynis Making Magic for Zippor who was Best NSC at Oswestry.

Great weekend everybody!!
