Okay we’re back and…..

In Ireland at Bull Breeds Best of Breed was nodded for Abberann Reach For The Stars Ryanne with Best Dog to Abberann Cosmic Cowboy. In Denmark Hammersmolles Quick Decision earned her Danish Championship. The BIG event was the World Show in Leipzig and the shows around it. There was a large Finnish contingent down and it was certainly worth their while. At the German Winners Gleann Dear Dandelion was BOB and Gleann Cotton Cody Best Opposite with Fire & Ice Jazz Best Veteran. The German Terrier Club Show was a repeat result for Dandelion & Jazz but Rosears Master of The House was Best Opposite. The World Show was an incredible 47 entry for Glens. Gleann Cotton Cody took Best of Breed, Bear Dandelion Best Bitch and Billy Tow Vom Au Deich Best Veteran. On the way down to Germany Glenrosedale Buagh Ri Arthur Milo stopped off in Prasgue and added a Cz Ch to his name. At the Norwegian Winners Gleann Flatbone Stiubhard took Best of Breed with MacNallys Glenna-Roisin Best Bitch.

Canada saw 6 Group placements in 6 Shows for Abberann Phelan. 1x Gp2, 3x Gp3 and 2x Gp4. As the year draws to an end the American Show scene is hotting up. Kilkenny’s Across The Universe to Setanta was Best of Breed at Pontiac KC, Greater Muskegon KC-where she also picked up a Gp3-, Kalamazoo KC, Grand Rapids KC, Dayton KC, Sandusky & Central Ohio. Abberann The Lion Ling was Best Opposite twice with Abberann Torcan also getting the award twice along with Abberann Lament for Owen Roe taking it three times. At Dayton Daulton’s Caoimhe of Pine Meadow was BOBOH and then went on to take OHG3. She was Best of Breed at Lima Kennel Club with Abberann Lament for Owen Roe Best Opposite.

Down in Florida Finnabair Double D Friend of a Friend notched up a Group 2 & 4.He was also BOB at Seminole Dog Fanciers and Greater Ocala where he took another Group 4. Kilkenny’s Irish American at Castlerock was Best Bitch at Seminole and also BOB at the first show of the back to back. A cluster in Philadelphia began at Penn Treaty KC with success for Ber-D-Mar Sweet William O’Shea with Tipperary American Girl Best Bitch. At Greater Philadelphia Dog Fanciers Association American Girl took BOB (with OHG3) over William O’Shea. Kennel Club of Philadelphia was once again a triumph for William O’Shea with American Girl BOS and this was repeated at kennel Club of Philadelphia.

The “brains” side were also out. Griff did some Fast Cat qualifiers and Ginny earned her AKC Scent Work Container Novice (SCN) title!

Congratulations everybody!!

Busy or what!

Things got a bit behind hand reporting on Glen of Imaal Terrier wins but now the highs of Crufts have already started to recede into memory (except for the Sage family of course) it’s time to catch up.

As it’s just been St Patrick’s Day we’ll start there with a BOB for Abberann Reach for the Stars Ryanne and Best Opposite for Abberann Conan but at Celtic Winners the day after Conan showed the breed’s Veteran Power by taking BOB over Daulton’s Midnight Sky of Galore. Jumping over to mainland Europe and it was Best of Breed for Highlander’s Dream Casper in Lithuania whilst Gleann Dear Dandelion was BOS. Riga International was a win for Gleann Dear Dandelion with Best Dog going to Rosears Master of the House. Lehre in Germany saw McJake’s Angels Son Djuke take Best Opposite to My Dear Fellow Brunhilde de Coco Best of Breed.

Jeff Dairiki sends news: Ciarán, (GCHB Keadeen’s Blue Boy for Bluesette CA RATCH) has had a nice run of shows.  After returning from his AOM at Westminster, he took BOB at all four days of the Albany, Oregon cluster at the end of February, finishing his bronze grand championship.  (He also was awarded an OHG1 on the first day of that cluster.)  Last weekend, he continued his streak by taking BOB (and OHG2) both days at the Seattle KC shows.

A couple of back to back shows at Monticello (New York) Kennel Club had Abberann Derbla Group place at both events with a 4 and a 2. Down in Florida Kilkenny’s Irish American Classic at Castlerock was Gp4 at Palm Beach County whilst in Kentucky Kilkenny’s Across the Universe at Setanta was BOB at Mid-Kentucky KC with Daulton’s Wild Night of Galore BOS. Keadeen Sir Emmet Mingus Glas was BOBOH and took OHG3. At Louisville KC Emmet again repeated his OHG3 but was also BOB with Across The Universe taking Best Opposite.

Kate Flack writes:-Ended the Louisville Ky show today, and I could not be prouder of Emmet – GCH CH Keadeen’s Sir Emmet …. Flew in to this 3200+ dog show and four days later we leave with 2 Best of Breed awards, & 3 Best in Breed Owner Handled (OH). On top of that we won 3 group placements In the large and competitive OH terrier group each of the 3 days it was offered. Watching and participating in the regular terrier groups with nationally known handlers and top ranked dogs was a privilege. Wonderful to see the top dogs in their breeds all competing for 4 spots and a shot at Best in Show

Great going everybody!!!

Keeping on going….

The biggie of the results to catch up with has to be Westminster (hopefully the 180 odd who looked on here last Tuesday/Wednesday weren’t too disappointed we were still on Winter break). GCH Finnabair Ardmore Ned made it an incredible three BOBs on the trot so it just has to be one word, besides congratulations, WOW. Best Opposite Sex was his daughter CH Tipperary That Girl. Two Selects were awarded and they were the brother & sister CH Cormac McCarthy & CH Ber-D-Mar My Dream of You Aoife with sire GCH Rainbow Springs Wicklow Warrior of Ber-D-Mar taking the Award of Merit so judge Ron Menaker could certainly see families and more than some may realise. Ned and the dam of the Ber-D-Mar siblings are brother & sister. Ned’s grandsire was the brother of Wicklow Warrior’s grandsire (English bred by a German dog) so besides family we are talking international! Thanks to Jane Fenton for the photographs

Back in January Kathleen O’Donnell (Australia) wrote “Tara (Taufield Queen Of Tara) 6mths first show in Minor got her bitch challenge and BOB then went on to win Minor of group she was so good and stood so well for me she performed well in General Specials (Best in Show) I was so proud of my girl today”. Also in January GCH Kilkenny’s Granite Glen Rooney took BOB/BOBOH and Group 4 at Merrimack Valley KC. The group of shows that make up the Northern Ohio Winter Classic saw two Best of Breeds for Daulton’s Rory & one for Kilkenny’s Granite Aine of Claddagh. At Erie Ch Daulton’s Dark Lily of Caradoc was BOB and then got the nod for Group 3. Two more Group placings for GCH Abberann Torcan, a Gp2 in Minnesota and a Group 4 at Osh Kosh.

The Finns don’t notice Winter so are out and about as usual! A Group 1 for Gleann Dear Dandelion and a Group 1 and BIS4 for Pearytail Cruella de Gleann at Kajaani Puppy Show. At Turkuu International Gleann Cotton Candy was BOB with Stiubhard Cutie Pie at Gleann BOS and obtaining her Finnish Championship. She followed this up with BOB at Parkano Group Show and then took a fabulous Reserve Best In Show. Pearytail Candy McCoy was BOB at Lahti Puppy Show and then went on to Group 3.

In Germany at Chemnitz Fire & Ice Moonraker was twice BOB and at Sporting Terrier of Yorkshire Jeonty Diamond Ring was Best of Breed. In Denmark Gleann Willy the Whale became a Danish Champion. A new Norwegian Champion came into being in MacNallys Glenna-Roisin and at Gent BOB was awarded to Bregorrey Wannabe Victory By Jeonty

The mighty Oliver doesn’t care that it’s Winter as he earned an “Excellent Containers” title at the  Performance Scent Dogs trial in New Hampshire early February.

A great few weeks everybody-very, very well done.
