Let’s hear it for everybody

Glen of Imaal Terrier folk certainly believe in getting the breed out there. A weekend in Kentucky for Finnabair Double D Friend of a Friend results in a full set of Group placements, one through to four. Tipperary American Girl took a couple of days in Ohio and took home 2x Group 4 and one OHG2. Newtown Kennel Club saw Kilkenny’s Best of My Love take Best of Breed. Elm City KC was a BOB for Kilkenny’s Granite Glen Rooney (and an OHG4) and she also took it at Ox Ridge KC.

Over in Europe it was the big Terri-Eri 2017 in Finland where Gleann Curvy Corvette took BOB with brother Cotton Cody Best Dog.  Tervakoski All Breed saw Glenrosedale Buagh Ri Arthur Milo triumph in the breed whilst Rosears Master of The House was BOB at Mantyharju Show and picked up a very nice Group 4. Gleann Holly at Spirit of Ireland took BOB at Ahlen in Germany. Unfortunately no Glens were entered on the Irish circuit, such a shame.

Staying (mainly)this side of the pond.

For the first time in ages no Glen of Imaal Terrier show news from America but we’re still out and about at the shows this side of the pond.

Back to back shows in Estonia & Meomodo Boho’s Trick or Treat took Best of Breed both days and a Group 4. Best of Breed at Turku was Glenrosedale Buagh Ri Arthur Milo whilst at Joensuu Rosears Master of the House took home the BOB rosette. On the home front Kingcottage Boogie on Basil was at the Vale of Glamorgan and was rewarded with the Best of Breed rosette

The US news comes from the “brains” side of the family as Ginny qualified first time in the Introduction To Quarry class and Jeff Dairiki reports that The Wicklow Trio took first place at the first ever Barn Hunt Academy tag team barn hunt. They found nine rats in under three and a half minutes

Well done all!

Incredibly busy few weeks!!

Glen of Imaal Terrier people never stop; new titles, new Champions, Group placings, even a Best Puppy In Show, it’s been a great few weeks.

There has been a lot of beauty but also there has been a lot of brains. Monique sends news that “Ginny had fun at the Performance Scent Dogs (PSD) trial on Saturday, qualifying in 4 out of 5 nosework classes and earning a title in Novice Containers. Also Ginny qualified for the third time in the Novice Barn Hunt class, earning her RATN title! She then moved up to the Open class for the afternoon trial and was successful again. Both of her runs were first place finishes also!” Also a celebration of (one) new title for Glens when Bregorrey Sovereign Storm added a CBAT to the end of his name by titling in the Fast CAT. Stormy was clocked at an incredible 22 mph! The American Kennel Club has just introduced a Trick Dog title. The all performing pair of Winston & Griff are the first two Glens to be awarded the titles.

Daulton’s Tupelo Honey of Galore was also notching up the BOBs at Springfield KC, Pioneer Valley KC and South Windsor.

Terrier Club of Michigan saw Daulton’s Wild Night of Galore take BOB with Abberann Be Brave Best Opposite. Fort St Clair Kennel Club (another great KC name) had back to back shows with Kilkenny’s Middleton of Irish Spirits taking BOB both times and a OH3. Finishing off with another Group placement, this time from Abberann Derbla at St Hubert KC.

All these fabulous Glen of Imaals in the ring would only have been seen if you were at the shows. Getting the breed out and about to people is just as important and at the London Pet Show Leia, Reilly, Dylan, Candy, Toby and their respective humans flew the flag with honour!

As we leave 2016…

Let us all celebrate Glen of Imaal Terriers. Each and every one is special but the Top Show Glens are the ones that repeatedly get out to spread the word to everybody. In the UK Pajantick Star Trooper gets the accolade and it is Gleann Willie the Whale for Denmark. Finland sees Glenrosedale Buagh Ri Arthur Milo take the nod for number 1 and the USA raises a paw to Abberann Torcan and his younger “bro” Abberann Phelan gets the same in Ireland so incredibly well done.

If any other country would like to send their Top Glen we’d be happy to mention them on here.

Happy 2017 to every Glen of Imaal Terrier owner, admirer, follower, enthusiast and lover.

Everybody is a “Winner”.

The Scandinavians do like a “Winners Show” and this weekend it was the Helsinki & Finnish Winners as well as the Helsinki Puppy Show. It was a great weekend for Glenrosedale Buagh Ri Arthur Milo as he was Best Dog & BOB at both shows. Pearytail Artless Tess was Best Bitch at Helsinki and Gleann Dear Dandelion at the Finnish. The Helsinki Puppy Show saw Rosears Master of the House getting the nod with Rosears Maid Marion Best Bitch. It was also the Amsterdam Winners and the Holland Cup with a double for Abberann Phelan and Abberann Reach For The Stars Ruari. Phelan taking BOB both days

At the Ladies Kennel Association it was certainly a family act.
