Let’s start with the “biggie of the Summer. At the World Show in Milan Best of Breed Glen of Imaal Terrier went to Gleann Ungus MacGuire with Best Opposite going to the Best veteran Gleann Nora, Best Bitch was Cairdiulacht Aoife NicAlainna. At The Terrier Show that was part of the “World” Stiubhard Cutie Pie @ Gleann was BOB, Gleann Ungus MacGuire Best Dog & Gleann Dynamite Mike Best Puppy. It was worth the long drive down from Finland for Tiina!
Back in Finland Salo Show saw Marfidal Karney O’Grady take BOB and Taramont Niamh Tirnan’Og Best Veteran. In the USA Bryn Mawr KC had a win for Ber-D-Mar My Dream of You Aoife with the Best Opposite going to Ber-D-Mar Sweet William O’Shea. St Petersburg Dog Fanciers (Florida not Russia) had Glentyrs Lady Isabelle at Castlerock in the top spot and Echo Hills KC of Ohio had the only Glen placement of the weekend (unless you know different) with Emerald Isle Keely with Daulton taking BOB & Gp 2.
Glen of Imaal Terriers (and their people) are well out & about even though it isn’t Spring yet.
A report from Seattle and news of a difference- the Glen Meet The Breed Booth got an award of merit! The ring awards went to Keadeen’s Blue Boy for Bluesette and Keadeen’s Sir Emmet Mingus Glas with a Best of Breed each. The four day Kentucky Cluster had 2 BOBs & 2BOS for GCH Abberann Torcan and the same for GCH Daulton’s Emerald Green in nice entries. At Everglades Terrier the top awards were shared between GCH Kilkenny’s Sullivan of Castlerock & Glentyrs Lady Isabella at Castlerock.
At the Celtic Winners in Dublin BOB was Ch Abberann Phelan with Daulton’s Midnight Sky of Galore Best Bitch and a new Glen to honours with Stiubhard Dobbie taking the Res GS. A little brag from Nick-but we quite understand-on what a family day it was with daughter Susan taking Gp4 with her Maltese and son Colm BOB with his Rottie!
We love Glens with titles at both end of their name and after a Barn Hunting Weekend Laura Trainor reports that Niamh finished in Open with a Qualifier in her first Senior and Kylee had 2 Open Q’s!

It’s just got to be a WOW for Glen of Imaal Terriers and their owners.
Glentyrs Lady Isabelle at Castlerock was BOB at Lakeland Winter Haven. The Terrier Association of Oregon saw the breed in the Owner Handler Group Placings with a number four for Keadeen’s Blue Boy For Bluesette and he was joined in Tallahassee by Ber-D-Mar Bally Griffin of Greystone, BN, RN, CGCA, JE, RATN, NW1 with two Group 3s in Owner Handler. Griff took his 2nd major so is well on the way to wearing titles both ends. Also at Tallahassee GCH Finnabair Ardmore Ned was following on from his Westminster win with a full set of BOBs and Group placings. Mark Brown is the man to quote for the other Tallahassee Glen happening “Today, Finnabair Winston O’Reilly, under fine handling from Kelli, earned his 3rd leg and title in Preferred Novice Standard Agility. This title completes his triple crown of AKC titles in Tracking, Companion Dog, Preferred Novice Jumpers and Preferred Novice Standard Agility. These four titles complete all the requirements for the AKC Versatility Companion Dog Title.” These are incredibly his 10th (and soon to be 11th) title! Another end of the name title for Ch. Niamh of Cnoc with her earning her PAX (Preferred Agility Excellent) title. She had to earn 20 Double Q’s (qualify in the Master Jumpers and Standard courses on the same day). The first Glen to be awarded the title.
In Norway at the International Show at Bo Telemark BOB was Marfidal Rohjaton Pohmu CACIB and BOS Glenrosedale Aoibheann Nion Rós CAC, CACIB and she became also Norwegian and Nordic Show Champion. Rosears Humpty Dumpy was a CAC dog and also became Norwegian Show Champion.
Many Glen of Imaal Terrier people may look on January and February as the relaxing months of the year but it isn’t for one team. Griffin and Kelli have taken four (yes 4!!) Working titles already this year. Nosework 1, Junior Earthdog, Novice Jumpers Preferred and Barn Hunt Novice makes for one seriously impressive haul! Kennel mate Winston has also been adding to his tally with a Senior Barn Hunt title and also Nose work 1. What a credit to the breed Kelli makes these two. Laura Trainor and Niamh have also been impressing at the Wesminster Agility Championships which are held on the run up to the “showring stuff”. Have a look how their qualifying run went
At Turku International Show in Finland BOB was Marfidal Koitiva Vaara with BOS was Rosears Humpty Dumpty. The Danish International Show at Fredericia saw McCormac Setna Sithbacc take the BOB rosette home. At the Tallin 2015 Winter Cup siblings Glenrosedale Ardal Ridire Ain Ri and Glenrosedale Aoibheann Nion Ros took home the Estonian titles.
GCH Finnabair Ardmore Ned has been “training” for Westminster with a remarkable TWO Best In Shows at Rocky Mountain Terrier Club and Colorado KC plus a Reserve Best In Show at Plum Creek Kennel Club. GCH Emerald Isle’s Keely with Daulton took a Group 2 at Livonia and CH Emerald Isle’s Wild Irish Rose got made up at the West Washington Cluster giving breeder Anne Marie Pember four AKC Champions to her name so qualification for the AKC Breeder of Merit award. Glentyrs Lady Isabelle at Castlerock received the BOB rosette at Lakeland Winter Haven Kennel Club and Keadeen’s Blue Boy For Bluesette took two Best of Breeds at the aforementioned Washington Cluster.
Best of Breed at West Midlands Terrier was Pajantick Star Trooper and at Sporting Terrier of Yorkshire Ahard Just in Thyme was BOB and BP. If any emails have been misplaced during the winter break do send them again and they will (of course) be included and very soon as this week is Westminster. Yes, the AKC biggie begins today and Terriers are on Tuesday but if you need to get your eye in and make sure the streaming is being picked up live breed judging can be seen from this afternoon. Hopefully Wednesday will see the results and photographs on here…hint…hint
Barn Hunting, walking, exhibiting, something very new and a BEST IN SHOW; Glen of Imaal Terriers just keep on getting better!! The first mention just has to go to GCH Finnabair Ardmore Ned with number 15 Group 1 down in Arkansas and this time BEST IN SHOW. No apologies for using the very nice tribute breeder Mary gave “Today Ned, GCH Finnabair Ardmore Ned, became only the second Glen in the US to get an All Breed Best In Show. Ned is sired by Spike – Malsville Soldier Blue. Royalty’s Star Over Coleraine (India) was the first Glen to have that honor. BOTH dogs share a grand sire – Jeonty Little Soldier, making this a family affair. Thank you to Jean Rogers for producing Soldier, and to Liz and Harold Gay for allowing Spike to emigrate to the US. Well done!” The American South really loves the breed as GlenTyrs Lady Isabella took Gp1 in Augusta, Georgia. Over in Ohio it was another BOB for GCH Daulton’s Emerald Green. Brno saw the European plus an International Show and Fin Glenn Glen Limited Edition was Best of Breed with Gleann Aine of Antrim Best Opposite. The International Show saw Cairdiulacht Aoife NicAlainna take the top award. In Finland Stiubhard Cutie Pie at Gleann was BOB at Seinajoki with BOS going to Gleann Ungus MacGuire. Midland Counties saw Dovaleset Rebus take Best of Breed with Donvaleset Domino Best Bitch. At the first ever Barn Hunt In New York State Niamh showed everybody just how good Glens are with first place & high score (fastest time) in Open. The first Glen walk in Central park caused a lot of interest and was a great advertisement for the joys of owning one.To finish off such an incredible round up Finnian shows the adaptability of the breed with his acceptance into a new programme Los Angeles International airport has started. They are going to have dogs in the airport terminal to help reduce stress levels of passengers and the boy will be there for a stroke and a hug! What a weekend and what a list of accomplishments!!!!!!!!

Glen of Imaal Terrier people had a very busy weekend. At Welsh Kennel Club BOB was awarded to Romainville Ellie with the dog ticket going to Kirikee Ronan O’Gara and thus making him a Champion!! The two reserves were Young May Moon & Romainville Billy Whizz with Bonny Nell getting Best Puppy. Over in Finland Gleann Rabarber Drom was Best of Breed & Best veteran at Raisio. In Denmark at the Danish Terrier Show Rosears Humpty Dumpty was Best of Breed, became a Danish Champion & then got the nod for Reserve Best In Show! Clonmel in Ireland was a double for brother & sister Abberann Phelan & Dervla with Phelan going BOB.
In American Glentyrs Lady Isabelle at Castlerock was BOB at Greater Hickory Kennel Club (what a great name) and GCH Emerald Isle Keely with Daulton took two Group 4s in Ohio. Whilst all the showing was going on Laura Trainor was out Barn Hunting with Kylee & Niamh and both saw qualifiers in Novice.
Some Glen of Imaal Terrier folk were out and about over the longest weekend of the year. At Swords Championship Show Abberann Phelan was Best of Breed and his sister Dervla took Best Bitch. Blackpool saw a first BOB for Donvaleset Liffy at Arkview with Best Opposite to Young May Moon. Glentyrs Lady Isabella at Castlerock was awarded a Group 4 in Central Florida.
Glen of Imaal Terrier people were certainly out and about over the last weekend. A different result at Scottish Kennel Club with both the Dog CC and Reserve CC going to puppies rather than fully mature dogs-that is a critique is being awaited with interest. Congratulations to Abberann Phelan (Dog CC & BOB), Romainville Jazzman(Res Dog CC), Romainville Uptown Girl (Bitch CC) and Ch Abberann Ennya (Reserve Bitch CC). In Ireland BOB at Hibernian was Poachersmoon Sissy McGinty whilst in Finland Glenrosedale Ardal Ridire Ain Ri was BOB at Joensuu and Rosears High-Five was BOB, and became a new Champion- at Rauma.
In the USA two Group placements were recorded over the weekend: GCH Daulton’s Emerald Green was BOB and Group 3 in Terrier Owner Handled at Blennerhassett and Glentyrs Lady Isabelle at Castlerock was Group 4 at Greater Kingsport. In Holland the Dutch Glen Association had a very successful Puppy, Junior, Offspring & Veterans Day and at Ustka (Poland) Firhir Glen Limited Edition took BOB.
