August is the big holiday season but Glen of Imaal Terrier enthusiasts are still out and about. Two shows in Finland and at Turku Jeonty Flown Finnair was BOB with his granddaughter Susamurun Sogno Best Opposite whilst at Joensuu Rosears Humpty Dumpty took the top spot with Rosears Jealous Helena Best Bitch. In Vöru (Estonia) Romainville Highflyer was BOB both days and took Group 4 on the Sunday At America the back to back shows of Lorain Country saw Daulton’s Princess C Hatteras take a BOB and a BOBOH Group 4, on different days as she is owner handled. The other “Best” went to Caatskill’s Merry Miss Mayhem. Sometimes it’s slightly confusing when Europe doesn’t have the Owner Handler Group. It was also two Group 4s at Racine (Wisconsin) for Abberann Torcan. Well done all!!

Really good weekend!
Lots of Glen of Imaal Terriers were out and about over the weekend but it just has to be a Veteran applause once more. At Welsh Kennel Club Brockland Brayhead Lad was Best of Breed but the Bitch Ticket went to (sister)Brockland Belle Bregorrey. Picking up the 3rd CC as a Veteran and after a later life litter just shows how fit our breed is in middle age. The two Reserves went to Romainville Bodhran and Romainville Tigan respectively so a double, double for breeders Ruth Welch and Kathy George.
Scandinavia saw a double in Sweden for SE UCH Abigail and at Heinola (Finland) Jeonty Flown Finnair took Best of Breed. Norway had the Oslo International and Best of Breed there was Gleann Uaid McDonald. In America Ch Niamh of Cnoc BN, RN, NAP, NJP showed her brains and beauty with a Group 1 in the Owner Handler terrier Group at SNKC and a Group 4 at Tioga Kennel Club. Many congratulations!!
Busy people

Boy have Glen of Imaal Terriers been in the news over the last week! GCH Finnabair Song O’ My Heart started the run with a Gp2 and 3. Estonian Winner 2012 went to Ch Jeonty Flown Finnair and Abberann Karl also did a Gp2 & 3 at Munster & Cork respectively. It wasn’t only the show world were the breed was excelling as Finnabair Winston O’Reilly added a new working title and the Glen with the best name in existence, Liberty’s Phineas T Prowness of Makin People Happy, obtained a Coursing Ability title-only the 2nd Glen to do so. This award will be a new one for non American owners so do have a look at what it is. Congratulations everybody.

Have a look at the photograph below and you’ll see that the dogs were judged in fine weather but for the bitches the heavens opened and the rain poured down
