The last monies and the final counting has happened and Jilly’s Jolly Jaunt raised an incredible £49,000!! It will be split to Great Ormond Street Hospital £29,400, Doglost £17,150 and Kennel Club KC Charitable Trust £2,450. Well done to all and everybody who contributed and remember the Glen of Imaal Terrier community helped as well via Cresta and Woody so great walking indeed.
At the start of the week Woody “starred” with his short-list at Darlington so let’s make it a Woody Week…….
Remember Jilly’s Jolly Jaunt from earlier in the year? The Glen of Imaal Terrier representative was Woody and this week is the final call for all monies. Woody’s Walk raised £326.70 and a cheque has been given to Gavin. Well done to Woody, to Cresta and everybody who contributed!
At Windsor Championship Show this year there was a cake making competition in aid of Jilly’s Jolly Jaunt. Cake bakers from all the breeds were invited to submit their efforts and the Glen of Imaal Terrier was there in the form of Nicki Montford and one of her masterpiece creations. After the competition the cakes were auctioned off and the one that made most money, a whopping £50, was Nicki’s “handbag”.
Congratulations, we’re proud of you!!
Jilly’s Jolly Jaunt (raising funds for GOSH, Dog Lost and the KC Charitable Trust by walking approx 130 miles from the NEC in Birmingham to Great Ormond Street Hospital) began yesterday and today they will be joined by Woody and Cresta. Besides walking Woody has also been talking for his local paper where he can be admired on page 19. Cresta has over £200 to donate to the cause but is still open for sponsorship! You can do it online but do put Glen of Imaal Terrier so its known who you are supporting. It’s possible to track where they are on the walk via a GPS collar Jilly is wearing. The password and login are both JJJ and remember to tick Jilly at the bottom of the screen when you get to the map.
In June Gavin Robertson, Jilly (Crufts Best in Show winner – CH Soletrader Peek a Boo) and friends will be walking approx 130 miles from the NEC in Birmingham to Great Ormond Street Hospital in London to raise money for both GOSH,DogLost charities and The KC Charitable Trust.
This is being used as a method of promoting healthy, happy dogs whilst showcasing some of our more vulnerable breeds and High Profile breeds so there will be a Glen of Imaal Terrier walking as well on Jilly’s Jolly Jaunt
Woody (Ch Johnny Be Good at Romainville) is taking owner Cresta along with him and the pair of them are looking for sponsorship. It can be done one of three ways. Either via the website for the event but if making a donation that way please remember to tell them it is for Woody (the Glen) or by signing Cresta’s personal sponsor sheet that will be at Bath. The final way is to email Cresta firstname.lastname@example.org and make arrangements direct with her. The walk is a great idea and it’s nice that Woody will be there flying the flag for Glens!
