Still getting the name out!

Glen of Imaal Terrier folk are still getting the name of the breed out and about. Pride of place this week has to go to the latest, and youngest, member of the “shout out” team. Also in Estonia at the Tallinn Winners Cairdiulacht Daibhi MacMiolmor was Best of Breed over Pearytail Bonnie B Goode. Congratulations everyone!

Westminster 2018 invites

GCHS Abberann Torcan
GCHB Finnabair Double D Friend Of A Friend
GCHB Keadeen’s Blue Boy For Bluesette CAA RATCH

Let’s hear it for Glen of Imaal Terriers

Glen of Imaal Terriers are on a roll at the moment. In the end it was nine group placements for the breed last weekend and it’s continuing on.

First call out must go to Abberann Phelan who is spreading the “Glen Gospel” in Canada with a Group 3, group 2, two Group 1s and a Reserve Best In Show. In the States Kilkenny’s Across The Universe at Setanta was having a ball as well with a Group 3 at Mattoon Kennel Club and a Group 2 at Sandemac KC. Abberann Torcan was Best Opposite both days. Across The Universe was also BOB at Illinois Capitol Kennel Club with Abberann The Lion King Best Dog. Not a bad weekend at all for the US arm of Abberann! Over in Washington State Keadeen’s Second Star To The Right was repeating her Montgomery success with a Group 1 & 2

Glen folk continually celebrate the power of the Veterans and at Birmingham Gundog & Terrier 11 year old Johnny Be Good at Romainville was Best of Breed. Best Bitch and Best Puppy was Jeonty Jyn a New Hope. Discover Dogs was on in London and the Glen booth was busy, busy, busy for both days. Appreciation to the dogs and people who flew the flag there and they were Sean Percy and Lesley with Leia, Geraldine & Alan Statham Cook with Misty, Lynne, Gordon & Katey Fraser with Dylan, Sarah Henson with TinTin and Gabriel (who was an honorary Glen for the day), the Locke family with Fina and Nicki Montford who was main supporter and assistant.

The brains side of the breed is also doing well with Ginny earning her AKC Scent Work Exterior Novice title in Maine on Saturday and something totally new to report. Keadeen’s Darling Violet earning her CGCA. This is an AKC Community Canine test, does the breed have anymore?

Congratulations everybody.

The breed knows our Veterans are good!

Glen of Imaal Terrier people know that we are a breed that gets better as we get older. Not for us the puppy champ and over the hill by 3 route. Glens are a breed that celebrate getting older and this weekend our senior flag flew tall and proud when Abberann Conan took Best of Breed and Group 4 in his twelfth year at Belfast Show. Best Bitch was his kennel mate Abberann Reach for the Stars Ryanne with Boudivella Osca and Daulton’s Midnight Sky of Galore taking the relevant Reserves with Romainville Rock on Lizzie Best Puppy.

At the Copenhagen Winners Best of Breed was awarded to MacCormac Setna Sithbacc and Pearytail Bonnie B Goode was Best Opposite Sex. Tallin International Show was a wave to the top spot for Gleann Dynamite Mike with Gleann Elite Ellie Best Bitch.

Keadeen’s Second Star to the Right was taking a short break in Montana and annexed two Best of Breeds and a Group 4 and at Butler County KC on day 1 Daulton’s Wild Night of Galore took BOB with Tipperary American Girl Best Bitch with American Girl getting BOB on the second day and OHG2.

A first reporting of an award; who knew that Australia has “Best Neuter” awards? Ch Taufield Queen of Tara was at three shows recently and was awarded Best Runner Up Neuter in all three Groups.

Monique sends the following for the “brains” department-

Ginny had a fun weekend of Scent Work trials! At Saturday’s USCSS (US Canine Scent Sports) event, she earned her titles in both Novice Interior and Novice Vehicle, completing her overall Novice Variable title!  She also qualified in an Intermediate Containers class.  Sunday was a PSD (Performance Scent Dogs) trial and she earned her Novice Exteriors title and a qualifying leg in Advanced Exteriors with 2 seconds to spare.

Congratulations to everybody and it has to be extra applause on behalf of us all for Conan at Belfast.

What a weekend!

Group placings galore for Glen of Imaal Terriers with a Group 1 and 3, yes 3 in 3 different countries, Group 4s plus a Best Puppy In Show! Glens also accounted for an Open Show Group 4 as well. Is this the breed’s most successful weekend ever? The Group 1 was annexed by Abberann Torcan in America and the 3s by his brother Phelan in Ireland, another US placing by Daulton’s Wild Night of Galore and Finland saw Gleann Elite Ellie take the third. Best Puppy was also Stateside with Kilkenny’s Midleton of Irish Spirit.

Kilkenny’s Midleton of Irish Spirit besides the BPIS also took a Puppy Group 2 and it was Pembroke Dog Show (Wales) that saw Kingcottage Boogie on Basil take the Open Show Group placement.

Keadeen’s Sir Emmet Mingus Glas added another string to the bow with a CA (coursing aptitude) award

What a weekend, what a breed!!

They do us proud!

Glen of Imaal Terriers, and their people, are out and about week after week introducing their dogs to people.

The Finns put us all to shame with their enthusiasm. Gleann Damn Daisy was BOB at Kokkola International and BOS at Oulu were she had to bow the paw to Gleann Easter Eamonn. Back to back shows at Parnu (Estonia) saw Pearytail Bonnie B Good Best of Breed both days, so earning her Estonian & Baltic Champion titles, with Finnabair North American Nebulon Best Opposite.

In America Daulton’s Wild Night of Galore had a 4 Best of Breed week, Holyoke, Farmington and two at Navgatuck where he was also Group 2. Abberann Torcan took a Group 4 in West Bend Wisconsin and Daulton’s Tupelo Honey of Galore finished her Grand Championship…..and a bit late, but better late than never, the latest Keadeen Champion is, and the first to be made up from Bred By, Keadeen’s Second Star to the Right
