Midland Counties critique

GLEN OF IMAAL TERRIER

Thank you to the exhibitors & friends who gave their support on what was a very special day for me. Your encouragement & good wishes over the last year have been much appreciated. With regard to Fit for Function &Health Monitoring I had no concerns with any of the Glens present at the show. They all appeared sound & with only some minor differences were typical breed.

POST GRADUATE DOG: 1) Jeonty Yipee Kiaye. Nice outline, good head & eye, very fit & moved with purpose. Reserve Best Dog.

OPEN DOG: 1) Pajantick Razamataz. Fit & well muscled solid dog. Good bone & coat. Moved with purpose & had a typical Glen expression of confidence. Best of Breed. 2) Ch Golden Spurs. Sound to handle, fit & in good condition. 3) Romainville Fast ‘N’ Furious at Wickholm

VETERAN DOG: 1) Ch Johnny Be Good at Romainville. Now 12 years old & still showing well. Put down in good condition & well handled. Best Veteran.

JUNIOR BITCH: 1) Jeonty Letty Be Magic. Sound in structure with nice outline & good head. Still growing but moved well, has potential. Reserve Best Bitch.

OPEN BITCH: 1) Ch Wickholm Breaking Dawn. Sound in type with good bone. Coming up to 3 years and maturing well. Moved with good drive & well shown. Best Bitch. 2) Jeonty Jyn A New Hope. Good outline with nice expression. Giving away age to winner but a promising youngster. 3) Ch Sigrid Helga at Pantcottage

VETERAN BITCH: 1) Jeonty Lola May at Wickholm. A typical Glen, still with good shape & sound in movement. 2) jeonty Red Clover. Another typical Glen. Fit for her age & in good condition. Just lost out in movement.

Mike Brown OBE (Judge)

Normally a judge’s critique is on the blog and obviously, as that is the most important thing, nothing else on that day but today we’re making an exception. Mike, after a long period¬†with touch and go moments, has had the sage nod from his surgeon and as he said to people at MC I’m here & I’m still standing! Alright he’s sitting for the photograph but lots of people wanted to say “welcome back”

PUPPY DOG. 1) STUIBHARD HIT THE ROAD JACK AT ADRGRAIGUE. Balanced head with good foreface. Correct coat with good texture. Topline developing correctly for age. Needs more bone & a little light & long in body. Needs more ring experience. Best Puppy.

LIMIT DOG. 1) JEONTY LIVING DREAM SAUL. His chest is developing well with a good strong loin. Correct ear & eye. Coat out of condition. Res CC.

OPEN DOG. 1) CH/IR CH/NL CH ABBERANN PHELAN. Excellent example of the breed with a full, strong head & great mouth. Ideal body proportions with good firm topline. Body nice & hard with good muscle tone & strong hindquarters. A finished product. BOB.

Bitch CC. 2) CH/IR/INT CH ABBERANN ENNYA. 11 year old bitch in great condition, covering ground like a puppy. Good strong body with good coat & strong loin. Res CC.

Cathy Delmar (judge)

Glen of Imaal Terrier. LKA December 2016

Thank you to LKA for the chance to judge & special thanks to all exhibitors for your support at this well run show. Glens are often lazy & this affects movement in the ring. Moving them a bit quicker will often increase stride length and give better drive from the rear

POST GRADUATE DOG 1) Romainville Freddies Choice. Well presented, sound in type & movement. Reserve Best Dog. 2) Jeonty Yippee Kiaye. Nice outline, well shown. Lacked maturity compared to winner. This will come.

OPEN DOG 1) Gleann Dynamo Man at Jeonty. Big powerful dog. Nice head and conformation. Best Dog.

VETERAN DOG 1) Brockland Blackadder at Malsville 1) Still a typlical Glen despite advancing years. A pleasure to handle.

GOOD CITIZEN DOG 1) Golden Spurs. Well presented, should make up well.

MINOR PUPPY BITCH. 1) Sigrid Helga at Pantcottage. Very much a baby but nice type. Has potential to become a very nice Glen.

PUPPY BITCH 1) Wickholm Breaking Dawn. A young bitch which had both type & substance. She was very well shown & moved well with purpose. Best Puppy & Reserve Best Bitch. 2) Wickholm New Moon. Nice youngster. Shown in good condition, not as forward in development as the winner.

POST GRADUATE BITCH 1) Wickholm Gone in Sixty Seconds. Good type, moved well. 2) Jeonty Mini MeMe. Nice outline & conformation. Lacked a bit in concentration which affected movement.

OPEN BITCH 1) Jeonty MeMe Fern. Sound in type with good bone.

VETERAN BITCH. 1) Jeonty Lola May at Wickholm. A solid well put together Glen. Moves well & certainly has presence. Best Veteran, Best Bitch & Best of Breed. 2) Jeonty Red Clover. Sound bitch who still has the typical Glen style & attitude. Well shown.

Mike Brown MBE (Judge)

The two critiques above means Glens have had a full set for 2016 bar one. So Steve, if you are reading this, how about Midland Counties as you were “Sir”?
