GLEN OF IMAAL TERRIERS

PGD. 1) Kingcottage Boogie On Basil. Delightful temperament, wheaten & in good coat & condition, nice outline, pleasing head, good skull, foreface, muzzle & dentition, well made & proportioned body, good feet & correct quarters. Moved well.

LD. 1) Pajantick Razamataz. Another youngster with pleasing head, broad skull, nice dark eye, good dentition, lighter in bone than previous winner, compact body & good quarters.

OD. 1) Gleann Dynamite Man at Jeonty(Imp Fin). I judged this exhibit in 2015 at 9 months old & awarded him the Res CC. Today I was delighted to give him his crown & BOB. Lovely head piece, strong & correct muzzle, impressive strength in neck, well laid back shoulders, good ribs, well muscled quarters, moved with drive. 2) Boudivella Osca. This young man has matured well, sadly had to take second to first again. Lovely in outline, great body proportions, correct head structure, good muzzle, ears & mouth, well laid shoulders, strong hindquarters, moved with ease. I am sure he will achieve his title. Res CC. 3) Ch Golden Spurs.

PB. 1) Jeonty Jyn A New Hope. Lovely wheaten youngster, correct texture, super shape, feminine expressive eyes, well placed ears, medium neck, good shoulders, ribcage & short loin, well set on tail with excellent quarters. Behaved as a puppy should but when settled moved very well. CC. Sired by the BOB. 2) Romainville Rock N Rolla. 8 months old, very good movement & body shape but longer than first, head has correct proportions, well placed ears, well made quarters, coat of good texture. 3) Romainville Rock On Lizzie

JB. 1) Sigrid Helga at Pantcottage. Blue youngster with pleasing head, good skull, foreface & muzzle, strength in neck, good ribcage & well constructed quarters. On the day moved better than 2nd. 2) Boudivella Tegan. Pleasing in profile, nicely constructed body, good bite & pleasing head proportions, movement sadly let her down on the day.

PGB. 1) Wickholm Daisy Duke O’Hazard. Wheaten that I liked very much, well shaped in profile, pleasing head with good skull, well balanced foreface & muzzle, well made body, rib to loin relationship is good, moved out well.

LB. 1) Romainville Maggie May. Mature lady, wheaten coat of correct texture, quite well made body & muscled quarters, not very happy with movement.

OB. 1) Romainville Uptown Girl. Found it hard to believe this lady is 6 years old. Very good in profile, good skull & foreface, good dentition, well proportioned body, strength in neck, well laid shoulders, good ribcage & bone with excellent feet, moved very well. Unlucky to meet CC winner, Res CC. 2) Wickholm Breaking Dawn. Wheaten bitch not yet two years old so not mature as first. Lovely head of correct proportions, good skull, foreface & muzzle, dark eyes & good dentition, medium neck with good shoulder placement, good quarters & movement. 3) Romainville Whistle Dixie.

Let’s do lots!

Glen of Imaal Terrier enthusiasts, followers and owners like to keep out there! At Leeds Championship Show judge Muriel Bailey paid homage to the thing we all know, Glens just get better as they get older, with both Challenge Certificates going to Veterans. It was a welcome to the Upper House as Donvaleset Rebus (subj. to KC confirmation) will now be adding CHAMPION to his name and Jeonty Lola May at Wickholm was awarded the bitch ticket. Gleann Dynamo Man at Jeonty was Best Puppy. The Veteran theme also continued over in Dublin with Abberann Conan, at 10, making a return to the ring to take BOB and his sister Ennya was Best Bitch.

There were three shows in Finland over the weekend and the Gleann affix was very much to the fore. Gleann Una Noonan was Best of Breed twice with Gleann Dynamite Mike taking number 3. The three “Opposites” were Gleann Ungus MacGuire, Rosears Humpty Dumpty and Gleann Curvy Corvette. Gleann may have been in two countries but so was Abberann as Abberann Torcan took a group 3 and group 4 respectively at Great Lakes All Terrier and Waukesha (Wisconsin) respectively. Daulton’s Emerald Green was also a double group placer over the weekend with two Owner Handler Group 3s in Ohio.

And what about the “brains” brigade? Mary Housholder’s Hannah took her first RATO leg and Monique sends the following….if there is room “Oliver had a great time at the NACSW Nose Work Element trial in Woodstock, CT on Saturday. He found all the birch scented hides in 4 separate vehicle searches and earned a Level 1 Vehicle element (L1V) title! It has been an embarrassment of riches lately and I’m so grateful that he still enjoys competing. There were also “brains” going on up in Washington State as Jeff writes “It was a busy weekend for Ciarán (Keadeen’s Blue Boy for Bluesette.)  He spent all day Saturday on a table greeting strangers and representing his breed in the “Celtic Kennels” at the Seattle Highland Games (in Enumclaw, Washington.)  Sunday, to unwind, he went rat hunting. Ciarán qualified in both morning and afternoon trials, earning his RATN title.  He finished with style, winning “high in class” on his second run

Millions of congratulations on a great weekend for the breed
