Busy or what!

Things got a bit behind hand reporting on Glen of Imaal Terrier wins but now the highs of Crufts have already started to recede into memory (except for the Sage family of course) it’s time to catch up.

As it’s just been St Patrick’s Day we’ll start there with a BOB for Abberann Reach for the Stars Ryanne and Best Opposite for Abberann Conan but at Celtic Winners the day after Conan showed the breed’s Veteran Power by taking BOB over Daulton’s Midnight Sky of Galore. Jumping over to mainland Europe and it was Best of Breed for Highlander’s Dream Casper in Lithuania whilst Gleann Dear Dandelion was BOS. Riga International was a win for Gleann Dear Dandelion with Best Dog going to Rosears Master of the House. Lehre in Germany saw McJake’s Angels Son Djuke take Best Opposite to My Dear Fellow Brunhilde de Coco Best of Breed.

Jeff Dairiki sends news: Ciarán, (GCHB Keadeen’s Blue Boy for Bluesette CA RATCH) has had a nice run of shows.  After returning from his AOM at Westminster, he took BOB at all four days of the Albany, Oregon cluster at the end of February, finishing his bronze grand championship.  (He also was awarded an OHG1 on the first day of that cluster.)  Last weekend, he continued his streak by taking BOB (and OHG2) both days at the Seattle KC shows.

A couple of back to back shows at Monticello (New York) Kennel Club had Abberann Derbla Group place at both events with a 4 and a 2. Down in Florida Kilkenny’s Irish American Classic at Castlerock was Gp4 at Palm Beach County whilst in Kentucky Kilkenny’s Across the Universe at Setanta was BOB at Mid-Kentucky KC with Daulton’s Wild Night of Galore BOS. Keadeen Sir Emmet Mingus Glas was BOBOH and took OHG3. At Louisville KC Emmet again repeated his OHG3 but was also BOB with Across The Universe taking Best Opposite.

Kate Flack writes:-Ended the Louisville Ky show today, and I could not be prouder of Emmet – GCH CH Keadeen’s Sir Emmet …. Flew in to this 3200+ dog show and four days later we leave with 2 Best of Breed awards, & 3 Best in Breed Owner Handled (OH). On top of that we won 3 group placements In the large and competitive OH terrier group each of the 3 days it was offered. Watching and participating in the regular terrier groups with nationally known handlers and top ranked dogs was a privilege. Wonderful to see the top dogs in their breeds all competing for 4 spots and a shot at Best in Show

Great going everybody!!!

It has to be the lead in….

Glen of Imaal Terrier people can be so proud that the lead to the “round up” this week just has to be Working News as we have certainly been out and about in that sphere with a vengeance. First Ollie NACSW Nose Work 3 Exterior (NW3-E) Element title on Monday October 19th in Martinsville, New Jersey and with the cooler weather, he was very energetic and eager to find the hidden birch, anise, and clove scents. Then Griffin with NW2 in Griffin. A near miss for Winston with 3 out of 4 elements in NW2 but he was 2nd fastest in vehicle search whilst Tula got 3 out of 4 in NW3. It doesn’t finish there as Niamh earned her PCD Obedience title. That’s Pre Novice, which will be renamed Preferred Novice come Dec 1. Same exercises as for the CD title except the Stay is not with other dogs (how sensible of the AKC.)

Glens have been showing as well with a Group 1 for Abberann Torcan in Valparaiso, a Group 4 for Emerald Isle Keely with Daulton and a Group 2 OH Keadeen’s Blue Boy for Bluesette in Washington. Even the babies are at it with a Puppy Group 3 for Gleann Elite Ellie in Finland. At other shows My Dear Fellow Brunhilde de Coco was BOB at Hanover, Gleann Una Noonan took the BOB at Seinajoku International with Gleann Cotton Cody Best Opposite and at Midland Counties Romainville Billy Whizz was BOB with Gleann Maggie May Best Bitch and Boudivella Oscar Best Puppy.

The Autumn Discover Dogs took place at ExCell & Lynn Fraser writes ”

On Saturday there were the following: Sally and Alan Barnaby with Murphy and Whizzer ( an honorary glen)

Sean Percy with Leia accompanied by their friend Lesley

Geraldine and Alan Cook (who sadly lost their Glen earlier in the year) who brought everything down and set up the stand

Gordon and Me with Dylan and Misty and on Sunday Gordon, Misty, Dylan and I were joined by

Kate and Duncan Emms with Daisy and her pup Fergus (6 months)

Beth and Ian Rogers with Basil

Nicki and Richard Montford (without hound, but who were a great help)

Just have to applaud all that news!
