Westminster….and other shows

We got the photo…and the video…and the videos. Let’s do Glen of Imaal Terriers once more at Westminster. Best of Breed was Abberann Lament for Owen Roe with Best Opposite going to Kilkenny’s Across The Universe at Setanta. Select was Ber-D-Mar sweet William O’Shea with AOM Tipperary Ballyfinboy Liam of Cnoc. The breed judging is online and so is Niamh’s agility round at around 2hrs 8mins and here at 6hrs 23mins. Niamh, by the way is GCH PACH Niamh of Cnoc CD PCD BN RE MXP10 MXPC MJP7 MJPG PAX2 MFP T2BP JE RATCH CGCA TKI

Also in the States at Lakeland Winter Haven KC Finnabair DD Ain’t It The Life was BOB with Long Lake Pharms Angus Fuller Best Dog. Over in Iowa Kilkenny’s Across The Universe at Setanta followed her Westminster win with a Group 4 at Cyclone County on both the Saturday and Sunday and at Maryland KC Finnabair Shorlyne Caatskill Comedy Tonight was Best of Breed at OHG3.

In Norway at Bo International Finnabair North American Nebulon took BOB on the first day with Rosears Noisy Nancy Best Opposite. Noisy Nancy was again Best Opposite on day 2 but Marfidal Pleasant Surprise took Best of Breed. In Valmiera, Latvia, Meomodo Boho’s Trick or Treat took BOB both days and then capped it all off with a splendid Group 2!

Congratulations everybody.

What a First!

Glen of Imaal Terriers triumph in many fields but how about this…..Laura Trainor writes:- Niamh (GCH PACH Niamh of Cnoc CD PCD BN RE MXP9 MXPG MJP7 MJPS PAX2 MFP T2BP JE RATM CGCA TKI) earned her RATCH today at Central Bark. This makes her the first Triple Champion Glen earning Championships in three different disciplines! Just awesome and then Jeff Dairiki writes:- both boys hunted as well as they ever have this weekend at The Club at Argus Ranch’s Barn Hunt trials. Both dogs had a 100% Q-rate through the long weekend! That was just enough for Ciarán to earn his RATCHX6 and Quinn his RATCHX5 in the final trial of the weekend. (Both dogs notched up Crazy 8 titles as well — Ciarán platinum, and Quinn gold.) What a weekend for the breed in other disciplines.

Porvoo All Breed Show in Finland saw Rosears Master of the House BOB with Gleann Una Noonan Best Bitch & Best Veteran. The N.I. Terrier Association Group Championship Show was a Best of Breed for Abberann Cosmic Cowboy and kennelmate Daulton’s Midnight Sky of Galore Best Opposite Sex. London & Home Counties Terrier was where Wickholm Breaking Dawn got the nod over Jeonty Lola May at Wickholm and at Lochabers Jeonty Dreams A Dream with Karensbrae took 5th, and money, in a huge Open Bitch Stakes (not bad at 13 months old) and then won Good Citizens with over 20 in the class…….oh yes and £10. In The States at Umpqua KC Keadeen Second Star To The Right was BOB and she repeated it at South Oregon Kennel Club. The exhibiting biggie of the weekend was Kilkenny’s Across the Universe at Setanta winning the Terrier Group both days in Kenosha Wisconsin and Reserve Best in Show on Saturday.

You all do us so proud.

Big entries for the Montgomery Cluster.

Leading on the “Montgomery Weekend” as this is THE one on the American circuit to see big entries of Glen of Imaal Terriers and this year was no exception. Hatboro 1 starts it off and it was a BOB for Abberann Torcan with his daughter, Kilkenny Across The Universe at Setanta Best Opposite Sex. Hatboro 2 saw Cormac McCarthy waved to the Top Spot and the nod going to Tipperary Cora Countess of Grantham for Best Bitch. Number 3 Show of the weekend is Devon with the Glen entry higher again. Abberann Torcan added to his tally with once again his daughter, Kilkenny Across The Universe at Setanta, Best Bitch. Number 4 is the mighty Montgomery Terrier Show and nothing could be found to top the best weekend of their careers (up to yet) of Abberann Torcan & Kilkenny Across The Universe at Setanta as they were waved again to the two top spots!

Kilkenny Best of my Love and Kilkenny Love and Happiness flew the breed flag in the Brace Group and were rewarded with Group 2

The AKC system has dogs “in the classes” and from the classes Winner Dog & Bitch is decided and these two compete for BOW. It is the points gained in the classes that make you a Champion and then you go into the Best of Breed class (often known as Specials). So the Winners are equally important when trying to make a dog up in the States. Hatboro 1 was a great start for recent import Gleann Cotton Cody with Winners Dog and Daulton’s Caoimhe of Pine Meadow Winners Bitch. Hatboro 2 WB Daulton’s Caoimhe of Pine Meadow again and WD Coleraine Here Comes The Sun. Here Comes  The Sun was WD again at Devon with  Finnabair Shorlyne Summer In The Caatskills  WB. Montgomery saw Finnabair Caatskill Lightening on the Shorelyne and Finnabair Shorlyne Caatskill Comedy Tonight take the two Winners awards with Summer and Lightening also taking the Sweepstake Best of Sex and Best Opposite. (Sure somebody will tell me if all those similar names are in the wrong way around!)

Back in the UK South Wales Kennel Association was rather a good day for the Pajantick pair with Star Trooper taking the Dog CC with Best of Breed and Pajantick Razamataz Best Puppy. Bitch CC, making a long trip over from Ireland positively easy on the way home, was Stiubhard Bellatrix L’Estrange with the two Reserves to Boudivella Osca and Romainville Fade To Grey. A big first at the show was a Glen competing AND WINNING the YKC Stakes-the first one ever for the breed. Congratulations to Romainville Becks Blue For Zippor.

In Finland Tuulos Puppy Show saw Highlanders Dream Casper the Glen of the day and in the Turkku area the Glen people got together for a walk and a day out which is always nice.

Glen Brains were also working well as Laura Trainor reports:- Reporting on the other than conformiation competitions of the week. Jeff Dairiki & Sandra Distefano’s GCH Keadeen’s Blue Boy for Bluesette CA was the first Glen to earn his RATCH Barn Hunt title. Their Kilkenny’s Love and Happiness earned his RATO title. Laura Trainor’s CH Rainbow Springs Kylee of Cnoc CD RE OAP OJP OFP RATS CGCA earned another Barn Hunt Master qualifying score. Her GCH PACH Niamh of Cnoc CD PCD BN RE MXP7 MXPS MJP6 MJPB JE RATS CGCA earned three more Agility Master Standard qualifying scores bringing her to a total of 75 which earns her the Master Standard Preferred Gold title. Whilst elsewhere in the US Kelli Whitfield sends: Finnabair Winston O’Reilly VCD1 CDX BN GN RE JE CA THDA RATS CGCA NW2 TDCH earned his Master Barn Hunt Title(RATM) today. The last two years Winston has been sidelined with cruciate tears first on the left side and then again this spring on the right side so this was a long time coming and this was Winston’s first event after his surgery this spring. Two stainless steel legs later and lots of rehab but barn hunt is so much fun for this guy.

Many, many congratulations everybody!!

From strength to strength

It’s just got to be a WOW for Glen of Imaal Terriers and their owners.

Glentyrs Lady Isabelle at Castlerock was BOB at Lakeland Winter Haven. The Terrier Association of Oregon saw the breed in the Owner Handler Group Placings with a number four for Keadeen’s Blue Boy For Bluesette and he was joined in Tallahassee by Ber-D-Mar Bally Griffin of Greystone, BN, RN, CGCA, JE, RATN, NW1 with two Group 3s in Owner Handler. Griff took his 2nd major so is well on the way to wearing titles both ends. Also at Tallahassee GCH Finnabair Ardmore Ned was following on from his Westminster win with a full set of BOBs and Group placings. Mark Brown is the man to quote for the other Tallahassee Glen happening “Today, Finnabair Winston O’Reilly, under fine handling from Kelli, earned his 3rd leg and title in Preferred Novice Standard Agility. This title completes his triple crown of AKC titles in Tracking, Companion Dog, Preferred Novice Jumpers and Preferred Novice Standard Agility. These four titles complete all the requirements for the AKC Versatility Companion Dog Title.” These are incredibly his 10th (and soon to be 11th) title! Another end of the name title for Ch. Niamh of Cnoc with her earning her PAX (Preferred Agility Excellent) title. She had to earn 20 Double Q’s (qualify in the Master Jumpers and Standard courses on the same day). The first Glen to be awarded the title.

In Norway at the International Show at Bo Telemark BOB was  Marfidal Rohjaton Pohmu CACIB and BOS Glenrosedale Aoibheann Nion Rós CAC, CACIB  and she became also Norwegian and Nordic Show Champion.  Rosears Humpty Dumpy was a CAC dog and also became Norwegian Show Champion.

Just so many congratulations to everybody!!!!

and over the weekend…..

Over the last weekend GCh Finnabair Song  O’ My Heart contiuned the Glen of Imaal Terrier group placement tally with a Gp 2 & Gp4. Niamh of Cnoc took Best of Breed at the Central NY Kennel Club Show. Well done to the above and belated congratulations to Rainbow Springs Kylee of Cnoc who has taken up serious jumping in her Veteran years and earned a “Q” in Open Jumpers with Weaves.

A communication over the weekend expressed surprise that a Group win by a Glen at an Open Show in the UK hadn’t been mentioned on here. It would have been if anybody had passed the news along. If your Glen does well at anything we always try to mention it but  we have to know about it!

And the winners were….

At Welsh Kennel Club the Best of Breed Glen of Imaal Terrier was Romainville Bodhran (hopefully Linda gets  airmiles-or something-for all her long distance commuting as she shows repeatedly that living on Guernsey isn’t too big a problemm) with Best Opposite going to Jeonty Maybee Daysee. The two Reserves were Jeonty Wanabee Bauer & Brockland Belle Bregorrey.

The group of Irish shows known as “The Circuit” ended with 3 Best of Breeds for Abberann Special Edition at Bellwood and one for Int Ch Abberann Conan. Over in America Niamh of Cnoc took Bred By Exhibitor Gp 1 at Susque-Nango Kennel Club

Congratulations everybody.
