World Show 2018 results…but pictures Wednesday

Planes and boats and trains bought Glen of Imaal Terrier folk to Amsterdam. There are nowhere near as many of us than in some breeds but the flag was flown proudly on all three days, nobody got an easy title. First up was the Benelux Show with 27 present. Best of Breed(CACIB & 2xCAC) was Gleann Damn Daisy with BOS (CACIB & 2x CAC) to High lander’s Dream Casper. The two Reserves-and CACs- were awarded to Gleann Una Noonan and Gleann Cotton Cody. Best Junior was awarded to Madra Athas Cayleigh Chead Gera.

The biggie of the weekend was obviously the World Show itself and there were 40 Glens entered. This time the honours went to the dog with Highlanders Dream Casper getting the nod for BOB-plus the CACIB and CACs-with Daulton’s Midnight Sky of Galore Best Bitch and CACIBs etc. The two Reserves were Gleann Bigwig and Una Noonan. My Dear Fellow Cordula The Angel was Best Junior, Billy Tow Vom Au Deighton Best Veteran and Finnabair Broc Ria Arda of Gleann Best Puppy.

Group 3 specialties were the last day of showing for Terriers. Highlanders Dream Casper made it a double with Abberann Reach For The Stars Ryanne Best Bitch. The two Reserve CACs were awarded to Abberann Cosmic Cowboy and Daisy. Broc Ria was again Best Puppy and Gleann Indico Indy Best Junior.

A long list of names supported by a long list of people from different countries. Whelped in one country but owned in another was the story right through again and again. If whelped in the country of ownership often parents came from a different one. Glen of Imaal Terriers, becoming truly international….as the Finnish, Swedish, Danish, Irish, English, Dutch, German and American ringside indicated.

Great weekend and congratulations to everybody who was there

Photographs. Over the weekend we were asked if, like Crufts, it would be possible to have a record of every dog present on here? Many put photos galore on social media but not everybody is “friends” with everybody else and some just won’t do it but they will do the blog. Yep, we’ll do it but it will be Wednesday as we don’t get home until very late tonight and they have to be sorted, so that’s Wednesday’s blog sorted then!

World Dog Show closes today!!

Last chance to enter your dogs for World Dog Show in Amsterdam this August as final closing is today, Wednesday 11th July!

It’s 3 days of big shows. Glen of Imaal terriers have Rainer Jacobs officiating at the Benelux Winners on July 9, Monique van Brempt at the WDS on the 10th and Helen Tonson-Koit at the Group 3 Specialty on Saturday 11th August

The 2016 World Show….and others with a BIG NEWS in there!

The 2016 World Show may have been in Moscow but Glen of Imaal Terrier people were there. It was a three day event for Terrier folk and a 3 day success for Gleann Bigwig & Pearytail Artless Tess as they got BOB & BOS 3 days out of 3. Meomodo Fantasterrific Arien was Junior World Winner with Pearytail Candy McCoy Best Junior on the other two days.

At Blackpool Young May Moon took Best of Breed with Bendikes Edward Bear at Squiresbeach Best Opposite. Over in America Daulton’s Wild Night of Galore took top spot in Glens at both Mid-Hudson & Shawangunk KC whilst Keadeen Blue Boy for Bluesette did “beauty & brains” par excellence with an Owner Handler Group 3 and obtained his Barn Hunt Q!

As a Breed we aren’t often awarded with Best In Show but we have a new recruit to those hallowed ranks. Kingcottage Boogie on Basil took Best Not Separately Classified, then the Terrier Group and then the ultimate, ultimate finger point for Best In Show at Carmarthen! His photograph was sent but the editorial decision has been made to go with the rosette shot as Beth’s OMG he gave it us face isn’t exactly flattering on her.

Applause for everybody and particularly Basil.

Applause for everybody

Let’s start with the “biggie of the Summer. At the World Show in Milan Best of Breed Glen of Imaal Terrier went to Gleann Ungus MacGuire with Best Opposite going to the Best veteran Gleann Nora, Best Bitch was Cairdiulacht Aoife NicAlainna. At The Terrier Show that was part of the “World” Stiubhard Cutie Pie @ Gleann was BOB, Gleann Ungus MacGuire Best Dog & Gleann Dynamite Mike Best Puppy. It was worth the long drive down from Finland for Tiina!

Back in Finland Salo Show saw Marfidal Karney O’Grady take BOB and Taramont Niamh Tirnan’Og  Best Veteran. In the USA Bryn Mawr KC had a win for Ber-D-Mar My Dream of You Aoife with the Best Opposite going to Ber-D-Mar Sweet William O’Shea. St Petersburg Dog Fanciers (Florida not Russia) had Glentyrs Lady Isabelle at Castlerock in the top spot and Echo Hills KC of Ohio had the only Glen placement of the weekend (unless you know different) with Emerald Isle Keely with Daulton taking BOB & Gp 2.

Congratulations to all.

It’s the World Show this weekend.

It’s the World Dog Show this weekend; in the words of Eurovision-Milan calling. We’ve been promised the results (and photographs) of the Glen of Imaal Terrier judging for the round up on Monday but maybe you can’t wait until then or want to check up on different breeds. Like the other big dog shows around the world there is a results website and one showing videos of the bigger occasions like Groups, agility etc.

And so it begins……

The World Dog Show is in Helsinki, Finland this year and it’s going to be a biggie. It’s a many day dogfest with four Glen of Imaal Terrier days and enthusiasts are flying in from around the world. Today it’s a Group 3 (Terrier) Show. Tomorrow it’s the Glen Specialty with Jean Rogers judging. The 8th sees the Glen of Imaal International Conference and the 9th is Terrier day at the World Show. Hopefully there will be loads of photographs. Folk can keep up to date on the actual website and via Facebook

and the winners are….

At the World Show in Hungary Best of Breed Glen of Imaal Terrier was Gleann Aine of Antrim whilst from America Laura Trainor shares the news of a good agility weekend. “Kylee finished her Open Jumpers Pref title.  We thought we had finished it earlier but figured out that our 3 Q’s were all under the same judge.  With her 4th Q we fulfill the more than one judge requirement.  She also earned a Q in Excellent Std Pref.  Niamh finished her Open FAST title.” Also on the World Show circuit the Interra and Budapest Shows saw Carrighglen Big Boy take Best of Breed, following on from the 7 titles obtained on the Adriatic Winners cluster the previous week.

In the UK it was the road to Scotland and Scottish Kennel Club. Glens welcomed a new Champion with Jeonty Maybee Daysee getting her third CC and Bregorrey Wannabe Victory by Jeonty started on the trail with his first CC and Best of Breed. Best Puppy was Jeonty MeMe Fern and for the first time in a long while there were actually five Glen puppies at the show. Well done all!!

???????????????????????????????

It’s this week!

The Big Event of the FCI calendar happens this week with the World Show in Paris. It’s running a new concept in so far as the French National Shows will happen in the morning and then the World Show will begin in the afternoon. With the French love of “don’t rush lunch” the World Show could possibly quite a late finisher. There are 15 Glen of Imaal Terriers entered with both intended exhibitors and visitors from this side of the Channel.
