Half the year gone

Already June is nearly over so it’s time for the 6 month leaders in the “of the year”. A lot of Glen of Imaal Terriers have won CCs this year but at the moment Int Ch Brockland Brayhead Lad has won most in 2012. Top Puppy is Romainville Billy Wizz. In America GCh Finnabair Song O’ My Heart leds at halfway so who are the other international “half-wayers?”

Some things should be publicised

Whatever anybody thinks about the Kennel Club they do (sometimes) have very good ideas. The Bark & Read Foundation could do a lot to improve the profile of the dog both with the general public at large and particularly with children. It’s also the sort of thing the “couch” Glen of Imaal Terrier would excel in. Have a read about it.

Another idea for the holiday

Rupert gave his holiday thoughts on Northern France so how about the Isle of Wight? A new dog friendly tourism guide has been launched to get the most out of a journey to the Isle of Wight. It’s a 24 page illustrated booklet called Pawprints can be downloaded or a printed copy can be obtained by calling 0871 376 1000. Anybody got any more dog friendly holiday venues?

Good Citizens anyone?

The Kennel Club Good Citizens Scheme tests will be taking place at the EFG Companion Show (in aid of Hearing Dogs for the Deaf) on July 14th at Swineshead. They will be held on the Saturday afternoon and the Sunday morning and aren’t just restricted to Glen of Imaal Terriers. Please let Jean jean@e-f-g.co.uk know if you will be participating. Even if you haven’t made your mind up yet why not have a read as to what is required for the Bronze level and maybe give it a go?

Whilst we were away….

Thanks to people who continue to send “stuff” for here. At the Glen of Imaal Terrier Association Open Show judge Val Harley awarded Best Bitch (and Best of Breed) to Romainville Tegan with Best Dog to Kirikee Ronan O’Gara. At 3 Counties Championship Show Best of Breed (Judge Stephen Holmes) was Romainville Billy Wizz with Best Bitch to Roaminville Inki. Abberann Bearnard was BOB in Salo and so became a Swedish, Finnish, Danish & Nordic Champion. Rosears Call The Shots became a new Finnish Champion. Well done everybody

It’s June!

So as not to tax everybody’s brain (including ours) too much we normally take a break a quarter. We did it in January  but somehow or other we missed the Spring break. As it’s now June-well the calendar says so even if the weather  doesn’t-we going to take a week off now. We’ll be back on June 19th so don’t forget to send anything that could be of interest to fellow Glen of Imaal Terrier people.

Whilst we’re away have a look at the new EFG website and let us know what you think of our work in progress
